He has got a **** up in him, but since partnership with VVD he's been sound, however like I say he covered for matip big time last year, he took the initiative and when it went tits up he took the flak. Matip never makes a mistake, but it's rare he does anything, he is bang average.
Its not certain I’ve no idea why it happens. Doesn’t seem to be any kind of pattern to it either. And cba to go fix it lol
Me too. It was obvious that Klopp intended Lovren - and not Matip - to partner Virgil. This is before Gomez showed his mettle of course.
I'd find the CB position quite difficult if I were Klopp now. I love the Gomez & VVD partnership and wouldn't want to break it up. However, Matip will be off in the summer and needs replacing. Can't see Lovren being too happy (best in world) so he might want out too. That means we could need to bring in two CBs that are of PL & CL winning quality but happy to sit on the bench or risk disturbing a superb medium cog (JG & VVD partnership)
For someone so tall, Matip is terrible in the air. Having said that, Crouch wasn't the best either(despite holding the record PL headed goals). Whereas John Terry at 6'1" was immense. Ridiculous really. Cannovaro was pretty good in the air for a 5' 9" CB
Dunno...Gomez looked class back when I watched... then great...bit of a lesson and injury but he's shown what I saw back then ...but yeah I do know what you mean...mist that look good don't make the grade
Anyone half decent can look a world beater in youths, reserves and pre-season. Voronin, Pacheco, Suso, etc
Just watching motd and I tell you, west ham had opportunities. Defensively poor but they should have scored
