I'm actually curious what the motivation behind the delays were. Are they just that disorganized, or were they trying to create some benefit from it.
It'll be mind game bullshit. Pep will have kept them in the changing room at HT just to gain any type of advantage. Keep them waiting stuff.
I actually think it’s just pure arrogance I work with a coach who never pays any attention to when the ref tells everyone to get started Carries on his team talk then does his last bit of warm up says they can wait for him I don’t agree obviously but not worth an argument
I presume we are talking 30 seconds to.a minute at games rather than egregious levels of time like man utd travelling on buses a couple of times to London.
Simple solution is to put in a rule of increasing fines pee occasion. If the TV companies are that irate about it.
just kick off at that time. If players aren’t out then that’s on you. Much like my rules for pens is introduve tjat if keeper is ****ing around walking to the spot not on line once I blow my whistle then it’s in play and player can shoot. Any touch by the keeper trying to save it if not on his line when taken is a penalty goal and a yellow card.
That would involve a change to Law 3 of the game which states " A match may not start or continue if either team has fewer than seven players."
The thing is a £2m penalty for 22 offences isn't a deterrent. £2m penalty for just one delay is hardly even a slap on the wrist. I don't think any other stipulations were made either, like if they delay again then there will be a more harsh punishment. As someone said earlier, it's the mentality of the club, they can do what they like. They're looking untouchable.
They're a law unto themselves - they really need bringing to heel. Like you say, £2m is nothing to them.
Maybe Pep is a scary Motherfucker behind closed doors and the posters keep ****ting themselves causing the delays?
