It's a.massive relief seeing spurs not even able to take on the useless chavs who have now yet again got results off too 6 teams. Villa result is mad. Like as if they've blown up as well as the result of us. Leverkusen will win the lot.
It's great as it proves clubs that do the right things can recover fairly quickly. Good manager and he'd taken them from league 1 after years of doldrums and non money to the prem. It really doesn't matter if they are make weights they can have a go like Luton.
What a ridiculous decision in city game. Never. A penalty in 100 years. How many times do you see a player actually wipe out the player and it’s not given when it should and then this time city player actually just kicks through and collides into the wolves player. Ridiculous officiating.
You know who's been paid. Same as the sheff utd pen You.can see Webb smiling away ticking off boxes in his personal vendetta there
PL general match thread seems to agree nailed on pen (will reserve my opinion until i have seen it), are you lot letting bias colour your opinions?
1st one, in real time it doesn't look like a pen, slow-mo makes it look worse. Iffy. Problem is consistency on this type. 2nd one is a pen
yep i called the 2nd straight away but then i'm confused why VAR got involved after ref said no pen considering nothing else has been changed for yonks
Yeah,a mate is an Ipswich supporter so pleased with their promotion......it's been 22 years since they were in the prem.
Yeah, seen the first one since. Kind of challenge that if it happened in the centre circle nobody would bother which way the decision went but as it led to a penalty can be seen as harsh/unlucky.
Problem with the first is that you see far worse late tackles after someone has shot or crossed it and they’re never given, actual slide in and wipe the man out tackles. Now if the defender had followed through and kicked him then I could see why it’s given. But the defender has put his foot up to hook it away, and the momentum of city player has taken him into the wolves player body. It’s where common sense isn’t being used. Same as the Newcastle ones few weeks ago b West Ham. Phillips hs the ball under control and goes to clear it, Gordon sticks his leg between Phillips foot and the ball and as such gets kicked… but he’s not in control of the ball so all he’s actually done is impede Phillips. If Gordon nips in and wins the ball absolutely pen, but otherwise it’s like someone running for the ball and you stick your leg between them and claiming they kicked you. Refs and var slow it down and look at the impact and not the actual whole scenario. much like the Bournemouth disallowed goal today. Was a clear foul on the Bournemouth player before raya was touched (which was also super soft) but they don’t look at the whole scenario which would have been a Bournemouth pen, instead focus solely on the raya touch
Villa defeat means we can’t finish lower than 3rd now. Does mean spurs could sneak 4th still though so that result may just fire them up going into our game
Yes. All we have to play for is each players future as slot will be watching. Trent has to play for his England place too. I'd like to think they take those things seriously, ignoring vengeance or playing for klopp they should all k ow they will be first out the door if they show a lack of bother here.
That last relegation spot is going to be close Forest play Chelsea and Burnley, Luton play Wham and Fulham, Obviously depending on what each do, but 4pts should be enough for Forest, where as Luton will probably need to win both. Burnley would need to win last 2 games and hope the other two don't pick up anymore points They play Spurs and Forest
Ideal scenario to make it fun. Forest lost to chelsea heavily to get their GD into the -20s and 29 points Luton beat against West Ham to get 29 points and -27/28GD Burnley beat spurs to get to 27 points - their Gd too bad Would leave it Forest 29 Luton 29 Burnley 27 with Burnley knowing a win would take them above forest but knowledge that a Luton win or draw would keep them safe.
