Standard points for CL, EL & ECL Win: 2pts Draw: 1pt *Points are halved in qualifying rounds Bonus points Champions League Group stage participation: 4pts R16: 5pts QF,SF & final: 1pt Europa League Group winners: 4pts Group runners-up: 2pts R16, QF,SF & final: 1pt Europa Conference League Group winners: 2pts Group runners-up: 1pt SF & final: 1pt The number of points awarded each season is divided by the number of teams that participated for that association in that season and rounded to three decimal places
Key points from that is getting out of the CL group gets you 9 points. Compared to winning the EL only gets you 10. So newcatsle and United going out at group stage robbed England of 10 points
I'm with Solid on the 'selfish' viewpoint in that I'd only be interested in there being a 5th place for the CL if there was a likelihood that Liverpool needed it. I don't root for other English teams in European competitions so I'm really not bothered if Aston Villa, for example, miss out on a CL spot because the PL teams in this year's didn't get enough points. One thing I do think in regard to other PL teams in European competitions is that I'd like them to stay in the competitions long enough to put further strain on their progress in the league, again because it will benefit us.
I want to win it, but if we don't, I'll be happy for West Ham to win it and would happily support them in the finals (assuming it's not against us).
I didnt expect them to do thst well pregame but they've had a classic opponent didn't travel home tie.
Fergie would have a heart attack 5 mins into the game trying to keep up with the players on the field.
Carrying on from the 5th placed trophy concersation CL (no italians, 2 german, 2 english, 3 spanish) Arsenal (England) Atletico Madrid (Spain) Barcelona (Spain) Bayern Munich (Germany) Borussia Dortmund (Germany) Manchester City (England) Paris St-Germain (France) Real Madrid (Spain) the draws today will decide IMO win the 2 coefficient posts next year. We could see all the germans go out. We could see all the psnaish go out. We could see all the english go out. who knows. The ideal for england is the germans bow out at the QF Europa (3 italians, 2 english, 1 german , no spain) Atlanta (italy) Roma (italy) Milan (italy) Benfica (Portugal) Leverkusen (Germany) Marseille (france) Liverpool (England) West ham (england) this one is is the big one. theres a chance two italians play each other. theres a chance we get one. For me the only hope I have is we avaoid the stabby stabby cpaital of the world in Roma and the nasty twats in marseille. the rest are all decent sides but we have anfield on our side. We have beaten everyone on that list at some point as well
