It's a mind-bogglingly stupid policy. Just buy everyone you can and hope that someone can build a team out of them.
I suppose ultimately a decent manager might be able to pick a working group out of them, but how long will it take - they were hopeless last season and they've already blown any chance they have of competing for the title this season after only 5 games.
They've nothing to play for outside of the domestic cups and so where is their motivation going to come from?
Their entire season will consist of Poch trying to get a tune out of them - if he lasts that long.
Boehly is clueless - I don't know how smart he had to be to make his money but his skills don't stretch to team sports.

I think they watched moneyball but only the part of moneyball there Brad Pitt is ringing people up doing deals. they missed the part where they had to actually perform

as it stands I sincerely doubt any of the deals are related to a first team squad map that puts 2 good players in every position thst manager what's to have. (what formation are they even buying for?)

they seem to just be paying cash over for any and all young players they can lay hands on, then writing that player down over 8 years and the massive losses in terms of pure cash (not ffp) do not seem to matter.

I thought that there had to have been some budget put in place when they bought the club (separate from the so called stadium commitments) for transfers but they are headed over a billion and near enough the value of the club going out.

those losses in real terms have to be paid somewhere. only time will tell where.

    they are really really close.

    Luton are down already.

sheff utd are rubbish but trying and are probably on a par with Everton

burnley are also poor enough so far.

wolves can't score but we're more than good enough to give us a rattle.

Everton are right in the mixer

This 'inadvertent' play malarkey, and the ball not being under control (this offside ****e at Everton) - if Beto stuck his leg out like that at the ball and tripped somebody up in the box would it not be considered a pen?

I remember Konsa against us last season, and Lovren swiping and missing to let Kane through a few seasons ago: but I also remember Bournemouth having one chalked off against us a few weeks ago when Szobo did the same thing, so I'm not saying it's all against us. And that one with Fab in the 2022 CL final too.

Utter bollocks, IMO. If a player tries to play the ball, even in that 0.20-second moment between subconscious and conscious actions, he's trying to play the ball. If he can't control it he shouldn't get a pass for that - it just means he has **** control.

I still can't comprehend how Chelsea wrote off their Abramovich-era FFP debt when he went. Yes, I understand the forced sale, the seized assets, and so forth, but I read that 40% of that £1.5bn was accumulated due to player purchases since FFP. That's £600m. Debt.

    Where's it gone?
