Early days so plenty time to change. But so far Mito prediction about mount Fernandes casemiro midfield is looking much more accurate than mine. Thought mount would give them a good box to box runner pressing well but it seems like he’s totally forgotten how to defend (or ETH doesn’t know how to set up a midfiekd to do it). Lots of talk about our midfield issues but Uniteds looks just as bad atm. ETH seems to have same issues klopp had couple years back. They have no CF so shoving rashford there to make him useless while playing Garnacho wide left who has looked poor (had a good few games last year but hasn’t worked so far) in same way klopp moved fab and Hendo to cb to sort that issue. You’d think would make more sense to shove martial CF or even Sancho, or Bruno is a deeper false 9 role to keep rashford dangerous on the left.
balance is important. so is having someone who can run. utd basically have 2 false 10s and a single no 6 in their midfield who cannot get about the park. we had Elliott and others play and leave fabinho in the same state last year.
We have been shocking in both games so far, still not sure what Mount is supposed to do. I know we can play much better and live in hope that the players remember that too
Sounds like we’re 2 very nasty tackles in the city newcastle game by Gordon and Bruno similar to the Mac one… not seen them though
None of the tackles today were worse than the Chelsea one last Sunday on Konate. Nowhere near as bad.
