err i haven't been vertical for 50 years unless you count the time of full leg calipers please log in to view this image my problem is broken hip but pressure sore on other side so trying to protect all means lying in a cramped position for large part of the day .
I don't know about seeding. I will see if I can find anything. TV money is split equally as far as I know.
Feel the Europa isn’t as bad as it once was either. it’s only really in England it’s looked down on quite so much. maybe it’s because the money you get for it is poor compared to the CL for English teams but for those from Spain/Italy/France/Germany it’s still a decent whack as they don’t get as much from their own leagues? In theory every year from England 2 of Liverpool city arsenal United spurs Chelsea should be in it if the big 6 finish 1-6 and in Spain you’ll have teams like Sevilla, sociadad, villareal, Italy, the Milan’s, lazio, Roma. There are high quality teams in it. You just obviously have a lot of poorer teams from the smaller European leagues to drag it down slightly. Obviously not as good as the Cl, but it’s a great way to keep coefficient up, keep used to playing 2 games a week so when you do get into CL again you’re not out of practise playing only 1 game a week etc. plus it’s a good place for the squad players/youth players to get more game time in a slightly less pressurised environment.
Couldn't agree more. The reality is it's for the teams who missed out on CL so it is the second best competition. But, no team, no matter how big, has a right to CL football. Sneering at the EL when hundreds of clubs don't ever get the opportunity to play any level of European football is entitled nonsense imo. We all want to be in the biggest competitions but when you underperform, you take with gratitude the opportunity that is put before you.
it is 60% to fa cup winners. 40% to league position when you have an extra club thrown in then the TV money will go between 3. so wish west ham bad luck lads.
I think the Europy Conference will also help as that's now seen as the lower tier European competition and the standard of clubs in Europy itself is much better. Also teams dropping from the CL into the Europy are beginning to take it seriously and wanting to win it, which wasn't the case 10/20 yrs ago. Btw just watching West Ham getting to the EC Final, it's a massive achievement for that lower band of clubs and it will encourage those in that same tier to want to play in it.
I actually think the CL clubs dropping into it sort of devalue it a bit tbh. Rewards failure but so be it. It always amazes me when clubs like West Ham, Everton, those mid table teams would get into Europe then do their best they possibly can to get out of it by playing their reserves. Like what’s the point of being a club to just finish mid table and never actually try do anything decent in europe when they’re there. Play all season to get high as possible then wish you’d finished 3 places lower
I think that's bcos most of our midtable clubs are too **** to even compete in the Europy (or the old Uefa Cup). But I don't think that's the case with The Europy Conference. West Ham (who at one point were teetering over the relegation spots) getting to the final will make others think we can get there. Also, midtable clubs competing in the Europy often had to weigh up suffering in league games (maybe risking relegation) against competing properly in the Europy. I don't think that'll be the case in the Conference bcos they can rotate a bit and still beat the likes of FC Klaksvik.
the issue is that west ham should not be teetering anywhere. they should be on 45 to 50 points and comfortable doing this conference thing. they are nearly relegated so what do Brighton or spurs or villa do next season? 2 of those clubs will dump the comp 100% for me it's this simple, the europa has been fixed over a few seasons but only if you win the group now. that takes some burned off. however as they have not fully fully fixed it there's still a burned from last 16 on. in the cl it's from qf onwards. we are seeing games added to cl again next year. the difference between a **** newcastle side playing 1 a week and a **** lfc playing 2 a week is enough to materially affect the top 4. it's that simple. come.may nobody remember where lfc played in Europe and then dropped points at the weekend while.newcastle played 1 a week
on the bright side Everton have been outed by the athletic as being a secret asset of a sanctioned Russian oligarch and the stadium they are building won't be their property when it's done. they also only draw so the door is wide open for leeds or Leicester to do for them
Oooo, that'll bring all sorts of legal issues if Everton don't get relegated. No way Leeds or Leicester wont be suing over illegal ownership.
So city have official won the league with 3 games remaining. Apparently it was a tight title race this year….? 8 points clear to losing the league with 3 games left and could finish 13 points behind city. Is that the biggest bottle job in prem history?
Was never close, Arsenal were always going to cock up. Their squad is not that good and have relied on Saka being worldclass, who's form has dropped off. They're another who have a good first team but their backups are pretty ****. Holding for Saliba has ****ed them big time. As soon as they had to start using their crap players it was over. Another who will struggle with the added games next year as they don't have the depth to compete on 2 fronts.
People are still trying to big up their season, but if that was us and we folded so meekly in the run-in I'd be really pissed off.
