Yeah this one is key, if they drop points in that game then we play before them next week, so would have the chance to go ahead before they play Leicester. Obviously that depends on us beating Leicester tomorrow, which in turn means they’d have to go all out when they meet Newcastle!! Fun and games
This. It’s funny that Utd have become involved, but you’d cherry pick those fixtures unfortunately so they were always going the limp over the line. Newcastle not only have the tougher fixtures, but the added pressure of being in this position. It’s no coincidence that teams outside of the top 6 get into these positions season after season and rarely manage to actually finish 4th
it'll be a massive collapse for either side. they both should have 76points min but may end up on 70. in the end 90% of the time 70 is loads to get top 4. we are just keeping them honest.
I think you'll get 73 points, and Newcastle will get 72. We'll get 69 points - we'll drop points to either Leicester (depending on which Leicester turns up), but especially to Villa, who've hit form at just the right time. I think we'll pip Brighton for 5th after their mauling to Everton, but 5th or 6th is irrelevant anyway. That we're even having this conversation though is a miracle, but I fear that if we got fourth it would justify FSGs parsimony - when we got 3rd in 2021 after a dreadful season and amid dire forecasts of how little we could spend in the following transfer window if we didn't qualify for the CL the next campaign: forecasts that came true anyway even though we did qualify.

I see steele has the alisson yips. keepers are the only players on the park I see putting a foot on the ball regularly and I personally think it's very very dodgy. the second they do it players should be rushing them as they've no chance of moving or getting the ball out of their feet to do much with it.
