Graham Taylor George Graham Howard Wilkinson Just a few 1990s managers. Now OK venebles did a 352 with England with Pearce as lcb and Ince dropping in to back line and two wingers mcmanaman and Anderson and wing backs but there were also a lot of absolutely dire managers in the 1990s The 1990 world cup for example was a disgrace of a tournament for long ball and imo was one of the factors in ridding the keeper picking up back passes.
Football in England in the 90 was still trying desperately to catch up with Europe, but there where more than a few that didn't rely on the big cb kicking **** out of the centre forward. Southgate would have had Gascoigne sat on the bench because he was unpredictable, or dropped hoddle and waddle because they didn't work back enough. He's the death of entertaining football.
you are right there. Southgate reminds me of graham. 1-0 to the arsenal. IMO he's a very similar type. thats my point. I think you are right, gascoigne would never get near an england shirt bar maybe stuck out as one of front 3 MAYBE. (more like grealish as a bench option) Hoddle and waddle = sancho and those types
Fuxake, much as I love to see Uniturd get bum-****ed, we have to face City in a fortnight - the fact it'll be at Anfield makes it worse.
Citys defende still looks shaky if can get at them. Problem is, Dias and Laporte back in bench so will prob be back in line up when play us.
People ought to be thinking what's waiting for us over next two weeks. Napoli were actually poor enough but we were awful. 1-4. City just reamed the side that made us look like spent old men.
A beats B, C beats A, therefore C must beat B - right? Fortunately football isn't like that. Just pointing it out, I'm not making any rash claims.
tbf Chelsea ruined it first, they showed that with enough money and creative accounting you can do whatever the **** you want without the EPL,FA, UEFA etc doing anything. City have just taken it and turned it up to 11 and mastered the dark side of club accounts. Expect Newcastle to be the next evolution of dirty money.
Oh I fully agree. Just pointing out that Haaland - impressive though he obviously is - is only one aspect of City's attempt to destroy all competitiveness in the PL. Stick him in the Wolves team, for instance, and he'll still get goals - but they won't be blowing everyone else out of the water.
That's fair enough of course. But man utd ran past us like we were not there with just a bit of pressing and they did henderson a few times like that. All they needed as a few mistakes out of us and they walked through us. City just absolutely handed utd their heads and while we were not "that bad" v utd we were still made look crap by them and they deserved to beat us. I think we all know very well what city could do to us in the state we are in, even 5% off our best we've seen city do for us in the past. We are so far off that level that we need a big favour. Hell let's face it we've watched Arsenal dominate utd back and forth and got done on the break so for city to absolutely trash utd shows what we ought to be wary of.
Most not top 4 teams fans would say what's the difference between watching man utd win the title every year or chelsea or city. Most fans don't actually see the dirty money they just seem the money their club doesn't have and can never have and shrug whenever someone points out that one massive.bank account is dirty compared to another.
Although I'm not keen on the Glazers' methods of leveraged buy-out and loading the club with debt, Man U earned their position of dominance with success on the pitch. Chelsea and City simply bought theirs. It's the equivalent of buying yourself a doctorate from some diploma mill in the States. To all intents and purposes both clubs were re-invented by their new owners - only the names remained. The idea that City have somehow gained a massive global following to fund their excesses in what amounts to overnight is laughable. Still, can't resist a dig at Utd - watching their loyal supporters pissing off to the pub at half-time was comical. Perhaps they think the season's over too.
