cisgender "denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex." In former times someone might have said something which would be upsetting to others here and called is "most people" or "normal" AND SORRY TO ANYONE ANNOYED THATS WHAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED AND MANY PEOPLE WOULD STILL DO IT...... this imo is academia putting a phrase on people and the communities/ one author picking up on it to use. this, in effect labels others so the user can have a different label for themselves. I can't say as i care, you are right though, no social media and then this stuff vanishes. But then again the LGBTQ++ (i think thats it now?) have had a lot of benefits from social media and the air time so its not all bad is it?

Maybe asking why a lady has one hand should not be construed as rude and just a genuine question that requires a reasonable answer ? So no need for muttered apologies and embarrassment
The plus helps protect the changing of language too. When the LGBT term first came out pansexuals would have generally been lumped in with bisexuals.
Well, it kind of goes back to the other debates as there's derogatory names and abuse given out on a daily basis to people on this as well.
Yeah it is something that they are developing and trying put in public and just confuses everyone. It does rather seem to be an over focus on labelling people and less about the short sharp message. The rainbow stuff and inclusion message is simple.
If it's by choice it's asexual. If it isn't by choice then its being incel. If it's because you prefer masturbating it's autosexual. Or if it's because you just don't "feel it recently" then you're greysexual. Oh, and almost forgot, if it's because you're only attracted to inanimate objects it's because you're objectumsexual... . (not a joke, that's the actual term used)
I remember my boss in the 80@s telling me of the time he was in a newsagents in Aigburth with his 4 yr old daughter when a dwarf, or PORG if you prefer, came into the shop. She had been chatting away to her Dad about what sweets she wanted and then suddenly went silent. She looked at the dwarf (PORG) before asking her Dad in a very loud voice "Daddy, will the rest of the seven dwarfs and Snow White be coming to the shop?" Needless to say he made a quick exit.
Porg? Never heard that term but, not sure that it sounds any better. Maybe I'm just uneducated. Google just pulls back a bunch of bird/guinea pig hybrid creatures for porg. Urban dictionary came to the rescue though! Do little people/dwarves/porgs really like to be called that? Or is it like "African American" for black people in the US where blacks don't typically prefer that term but some white people think it's racist to call them black so they end up calling Idris Elba a "British African-American person". (Yes, I've really heard Black people in Britain called that by Americans)
