Potentially but he’s also got that quick movement which should help him find space in a crowded box for the low crosses and pull backs. Also gives them an option if city mix it up with higher crosses. I can imagine those balls in from kdb on the inside right onto his head. Similar to us with TAA and Nunez.
Not sure about this bit, from what iv'e seen he prefers the ball in front of him so he can run onto it and beat defenders/keepers.
City create space….lots of it. I get your point but if he’s anything at all, he’ll score a ton of goals there.
Thinking about it, it may actually help him. He has suffered a fair few soft tissue injuries (probably from the way he has been played chasing the ball), mixing the two things up may put less strain on his body.
Nunez has a very good shot conversion rate (better than Haaland) - something we desperately needed last season.
Don't think City need a focal point as much as us. Along the lines of what Diego said, they are very much set up that the large number of attacking midfielders works, as they get the the line and typically cut back for tap ins. We rely more on pace on the counter from winning it high and creativity from out wide. Both will score, and possibly lots. I just hope Nunez helps us even more in the situations where we can't break teams down and they sit too deep and tight to break against.
I wonder if we'll change the way we play with him in the team because we haven't had an out and out striker for a while. One thing for sure, I think the league will be really exciting with the addition of these two.
Especislly when you look back at the 3 finals. 0 goals scored but so many clear cut chances missed. Was crying out for a finisher. I though Jota might do that as he has that habit of being right place, but hopefully Nunez can be that player that even if only given 1 chance, sticks it away. GK and defenders in theory not as good in Portugal though, so will have to work harder to score but can only help training against Ali
I think you’ll be surprised. I think he doesn’t have to play as a regular 9 but can play deep - a bit like a more more mobile Kane. We’ll see soon enough.
I said at the time we should sell Mo and get Darwin, albeit a bit flippantly. Obviously untried in the PL, but he looks a natural goalscorer.
I see Danny drinkwater has said he had the best years of his career wasted. Once I stopped wondering who thr **** even bothered asking the no mark.anything I realised he say at Chelsea harvesting money for 5 years and never gave up the Gravy to actually play so he really is as deluded as boris johnson
city lose ake and sterling, both to chelsea. thats an odd one. they must be saving up to get Ronaldo the issue with the rumour mill is mr silva to barca is doing the rounds just as rapinha to barca is. Barca have less than no money so its all very odd. right now city look light of a team capable of fighting for 4 trophies but still look the best first 11 overall. no LB signed yet. so walker and cancelo first choice signed phillips so their best midfield is still rodri, kdb and silva. Signed haaland but lose sterling and jesus so foden and mahrez now main options for first 11 with the big donkey. they broke even in 2021 and made a whopping 126mil loss in 2020. Are they actually hamstrung by the rules this summer? this all suggests a massive splurge in the next year or so.
