Or maybe it'd a problem our location gives us? The reality is Europe has been the be all and end all of football but may not always be so. Africa is huge. It more aligns with South America in terms of footballing seasons that with Europe in theory. Why should they try to sync with us? It's a money thing again. Subverting thier needs to ours cos their players can get rich.
I'm not suggesting they should. My comment has nothing to do with Europe. I'm saying that because of the completely different seasonal range across the African continent they can never settle on a set of dates that will be suitable for every venue.
This is true, though i wonder if their domestic season even align. that would be actually interesting to know as I've no idea when they run from and til. same for south America. Even here in europe some league are so far north they run at different timings/try to. I have started some learnings on this Morocco is considered one of the top leagues. it ran from September to July last year though again no idea if they have a world cup impact. Egypt Started in october and will run to august which seems to indicate some level of a break Tunisia ran october to june. South africa ran august to may. There doesn't seem to be a huge difference there, just starting later in year
Hmmm, I've no idea why SA play across their summer months. Perhaps it's just a tradition dating from the colonial origins that they've never bothered to change. The others you mentioned are all northern so you'd expect them to roughly align with ours. If you're talking about 21/22 season in Egypt then the last Afcon might explain the break.
i think its a great move... for us. city are not improving thus far this summer. silva wants away as well.
so jesus has joined the arsenal and phillips joins city for reputedly the exact same fee. Only time will tell as arsenal accounts will be interesting. Assuming: 1. Sterling is gone 2. City sign a LB somewhere. 3. Silva goes to whereever (barca supposedly) 4. Ake goes 5. zinchenko goes 6. mendy is finally found guilty Man city best 11 ederson Cancelo Laporte Dias (new bloke) Phillips rodri KDB Mahrez Haaland Foden Still strong but second string steffen Walker Stones Nobody Nobody Gundogan Nobody Palmer Nobody Alvarez Grealish City have work to do imo. great first 11, will prob win a lot of trophies but there seems to be a squad clearout under way and they will have to bring in a few more players or promote someone. they so not want silva to go. that helps CM a lot. the other defender sales are rumours as we speak. Sterling going will hurt them.
I wouldn't say that, Haaland is an improvement regardless of how highly or lowly you rate him because he's a striker! Agree about Phillip's though, such a nothing signing.
the thing is haaland is one in while theres two out. Its not like either were spectacular but haaland has a bit of an injury record so if he gets 28 goals for 28 games thats great but it ends up near as damn it the same as sterling and jesus. I think their first 11 is very strong but its just not quite as impressive as it once was in squad terms.
Ederson walker Dias Laporte Cancelo silvs rodri kdb mahrez Haaland foden Ortega RB stokes Ake Zinchenko Gundogan Phillips Grealish Palmer Alvarez Kayky Decent 2nd 11 there. Need another RB although Cancelo can go there and Zinchenko LB so have cover. midfield looks very strong. Grealish prob players more up top but could cover both options. If sterling goes, don’t have huge back up out wide. Really only mahrez foden Grealish. But the younger players may step up, couple meant to be very highly rated.
yet a lot of players linked to moves away? Ake, zinchenko, silva, sterling. the rumour mill is still flying there.
Kelleher Ramsey Gomez Konate Tsimikas Elliott Keita Milner Jota Firmino Jones Dno, that’s a pretty decent second 11.
Government greenlights all 20 Premier League clubs for safe standing area All clubs in the top two tiers of English football can apply to operate licensed safe standing areas next season, the government has said. Cardiff, Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham took part in a safe standing pilot in the second half of last season and Brentford, QPR and Wolves will now join those clubs in offering designated areas for home and away fans from the start of the 2022/23 season. And others go so.... yeah on a one for one basis you are absolutely correct haaland finally replaces aguero cos Jesus couldn't. But them sterling goes too then there's an awful lot of similar types in grealish, Jesus kdb and not that.much pace.
