Without Liverpool, City would have won 5 titles in a row by:- 21/22 19 points 20/21 12 points 19/20 15 points 18/19 26 points 17/18 19 points Make no mistake, Liverpool are all that is stopping the Premier League being the worst 'big' league. This is what the future looks like

the reality is that everyone should be grateful that we are challenging. They should….but they won’t be. All that money and they won the league by 15 minutes and one point. They should be ashamed of themselves <whistle>

Anyone from relegated sides worth a punt?

Dont think really anyone from Norwich.
watford - sarr prob the standout but think we’ve moved on from him by getting Jota and diaz.

burnley - pope, McNeil prob 2 but again not good enough for us

tbf,Liverpool would be winning consecutive titles in this era if it wasn't for Citys dubious wealth.

Pope is good enough to be first choice for a number of mid-table teams, but he's not as good as either of our two. I can't see why he would want to be third in line when he can be playing elsewhere.

he's not so theres no point.

He'd absolutely kill our high line any time he played.

Its the equivalent of man utd thinking de gea is good for a high press game alongside maguire and ronaldo. Its absolutely hilarious.

Spurs are going for forester off southampton as their cheap "i'm english" choice to free up a slot for a rela player outfield. if lloris gets injured.....

LFC have Alisson and Kelleher. We are trying to build a goalkeeper wolrd class academy where we sell these guys on.

Karius is out. Adrian might be gone, that then leaves us with:

Pitaluga - deliberately not loaned out yet. singed in 2020 at age 17. he needs 3 years on books (not loaned) before he can be HG.
Jakub Ojrzynski - we signed in 2019 in 2021/12 we loaned him out in wales so he can qualify as HG i think.
Liam Hughes - is from northern ireland and signed from celtic so won't ever qualify so we signed in 2021 and loaned out.
Fabian Mrozek - again recently picked up and intended to stay at club
Harvey Davies - local lad at club since 9 was on bench in the CL btw
Luke Hewitson - again from u15s in sunderland so aim for HG.

All of these represent value to the club and why we brought in tafferel etc.

in a few years we hope to be churning out kellehers to sell.

IMO we've 17 foreign slots to use in the squad and adrian represents no value to us. Pope wouldn't be great BTW but he would allow for another outfield player. the pity is he should never ever play.

yup. absolute bargain at the price as a result. Really just down to him if he becomes a sale or a keep. The hurdle imo is being ready and putting the work in now cos he'll have to wait his chance. if we took an attitude like tsimikas for example he'd do great.

Any prospective player who's watched the season we've just had with the amount and speed of games will know that they will get a chance to impress.

Having a debate at work today
Wondering if any of you boffins can shed some light

how is it possible to score with the last kick of the game - like when the ball gets returned to the centre - they literally KO and full time whistle is blown
Given the fact that for every goal scored 30seconds should be added on
Is this a real fact/rule or just hearsay

in theory if 4 mins is added on you’ve played 93.59 minutes, ball hasn’t gone out of play and then score. You wouldn't add 30 seconds on because was only 1 second of time left.

the 30 seconds is generally how long it takes to celebrate and get play started. The clock would actually then show 94.30 minutes so your 30seconds has been added on whole celebrating and then ref would blow the whistle when the final 1 second is played

See Gareth has outdone himself with this England squad. After feeling 4 RB’s wasn’t enough for the Euro squad, he’s decided to take 5 right backs to the nations league games this summer with no proper left back included.

Now I know left back isn’t strong east position with shaw injuries and form, plus chillwell injuries. But would have thought they’d be one in the prem could call upon. How about maybe dipping into championship to find one?

theres no such rule. bar the rule of thumb.

a ref can add anything he thinks he wants to on.

For example you could literally be at 90+5 and ref allows a corner to be taken even though he only signalled 5mins. you socre and game is in effect over but he can choose to let a team tip off then to blow it off but he can equally signal goal then blow it off. i don't see ayhting that says

    https://www.thefa.com/football-rule...tball-11-11/law-7---the-duration-of-the-match

    FA "rules" 7

    Allowance for time lost

Allowance is made by the referee in each half for all playing time lost in that half through:
    • substitutions
    • assessment and/or removal of injured players
    • wasting time
    • disciplinary sanctions
    • medical stoppages permitted by competition rules e.g. ‘drinks’ breaks (which should not exceed one minute) and ‘cooling’ breaks (ninety seconds to three minutes)
    • delays relating to VAR 'checks' and 'reviews'
    • any other cause, including any significant delay to a restart (e.g. goal celebrations)
The fourth official indicates the minimum additional time decided by the referee at the end of the final minute of each half. The additional time may be increased by the referee but not reduced.
The referee must not compensate for a timekeeping error during the first half by changing the length of the second half.

the bit in bold backs up IBWT. if the ref thinks theres a second to go by law he cannot ingore it.

yeah, after all it is the stupid national league nothingness.

    use it to develop!

all he is going to do now is knacker half his squad that need to be resting prior to the new season and mid year world cup.

hopefully england blow up and go out and he gets his.

    such a negative manager.,

Tbf should just do away with it and go rugby rules.

60 mins on the clock. Clock stops when ball is out of play and restarts when ball is back in. Means you can’t time waste. Fans are guaranteed to watch 60 minutes of football. And no controversy around added on time (like the ref blowing early in the city game despite Ederson being down injured for a minute in injury time)
