I would not try to change your mind - you can call anyone you want scum, I was merely pointing out that to me they are not. That said however, i do not believe I need to rethink my life choices based on that decision
It's terrible that the same doping is allowed in their fledging pro sport. And it is still fledgling despite being going for years. They will kill the thing as while would crowds go to support if all but 1 or 2 teams can ever do anything due to doping. It's bad enough in the men's game where established clubs see fans dropping off for some teams as they have decided its survival and nothing else.
It wouldn't be in the format it is for sure. LFC have made a conscious decision not not fund it and saw them relegated and now have put a bit into it to get back in after seeing how the wind is blowing and the possibility of profit out of it. (i assume) they let the manager go and appointed amateurs and then went back to the same guy to get them back up and bought a few players. SKY are showing this free to air to build an audience before they paywall it. IMO its a level of semi pro/pro based on grow revenue and tv money coming in but it seems to have higher wages than it should so right now is the big clubs jockeying for position to exploit the tv cash. None of this really grows the women's game at grass roots does it? Personally i find the imposition of the "mens brand" on top of the women's game potentially harmful over time. It'll be man city have won xyz, oh and the women won this stuff as well rather than a whole other club name having its own success in its own right. Radical thought but does a womens' team form the city of liverpool need to be randed the same as the male club? kit design, logos, etc etc etc? surely its an opportunity to drvie something new? But then again.... i dunno, maybe thats just as bad cos LFC want's women to watch the men too.
Well i think it will be having an impact on grass roots womens football as just in the last 20 years participation has soared and the exposure on in particular the Beeb will continue to make it grow however that doesn't necessarily yet translate into an audience for the pro game
man utd mill stones De gea. 375,000 per week - 2 more years (only looks good when he's got 10 saves a game to make) sancho 350k per week all the way to 2027. I know he is young but.... wow... given what he's returned so far it aint great. Varane 355k per week all the way to 2026 already 28, very injury prone. this doens't sound as good as it did last summer. His injuries are again the issue. Martial 250k per week all the way to 2025 - complete failure now. Maguire 200k per week to 2026. already 29 so there to be awful til he is 34/35. wow. Fernandes I still think he is good but 350k per week to 2026. he was on 180k greenwood 75k a week up to 2027. a holding contract but now to a guy who's career is all but over?? van de beek 120k per week to 2026 and never backed by a manager. crazy signing. matic. been seeing out his contract for 2 years now and has one more after this. 120k per week. millstones being tossed aside?? Pogba. 300k a week, Ronadlo 500k per week. both out of contract. will man utd do the unthinkable and sign them up again?? what about cavani on 250k per week doing nothing. now.... no club is without stain and we have mode more errors than most over the past 10's but as we stand our millstones list is a lot smaller Adrian. 70k odd for a guy we don't want to play. we seem to be happy to have him for training and dressing room. one further season left. Origi - 70k 6th choice player - out of contract milner at a stretch cos jimmy would want him on the list here. 140k a week for a subs and a few cup games from time to time. out of contract as it stands keita at 120k per week. certainly a failed transfer due to injuries. 1 more year left. Ox 120k per week certainly a failed transfer due to injuries. 1 more year left. my favourit. Ben davies on an inexplicable 50k per week up to 2026. The ultimate panic buy but i suppose will pay for himself in laons. thats me scraping up players who play but don't probably play enough to justify their full existence at LFC the difference at utd is the scale of wage being thrown at players and the decision making. We have got a few wrong or had a few settle to become squad players we coudl not shift but we bought them (bar ox) off decent records and hope to do more) varane is eye watering. We all knew he'd a litany of injuries but utd went and paid 34million and lumped 355k a week at him to come and topped it by making the contract run til he was 34 as well. I think he is an absolutely top class player but he's just one step form ledley king at this point who also was a fantastic defender. Ronaldo and pogba... will they throw cash at them to stay??? they might you know. thats a mil a week gone if they do.
Ronaldo isn't out of contract as he has 1 more year left though it remains to be seen if he stays for that year .
I can not imagine there is another team out there stupid enough to pay him half a mil a week and let him do what he wants.
