exactly. If we **** it up, then we **** it up and go mad. We have score 2.8 goals per game in 5 games v bottom half sides and conceded 0.6 (and all 3 v brentford) What have watford to trouble vvd and matip? Josh king? Sarr on the right wing? Bonaventure on the left? Tom Cleverly FFS? This is not a hoof it at a target man and bully matip side. This is a side we should be wanting to get at. 2-0 is the most likely outcome statistically with the 3 goals being a possibility.
I’m not sure who you think is worrying or who is saying we stand no chance because alisson and Fabinho are out? I think all you’ll find is that people are bored at 1, losing players to international games that they have no care for. It’s bad enough internationals disrupt the league, and then you lose players to them so can’t train and even worse when they get injured (we all know about them), but to not even have your players available for you because they play 24 hours before on another continent is just taking the piss. Yes we should win without them.. doesn’t mean can’t be annoyed that they aren’t available. It’s the principle of it. This time it’s Alison and Fabinho for Watford. What if next time it was Alison, Fabinho, firmino, Salah & mane for an away game v united?
no point wasting time about it. take the fatalistic approach to these things. **** happens can't change it. move on to what we can do. If fabinho broke a leg friday night it'd be a lot worse!
There is no relegation battle yet, and Watford outside the bottom three, that is not to say they will not turn up. We need to play very well to take three points which is not impossibe.
If we cant hammer the ****nof of that lot how can we even expect to get anything out of villa, everton, arsenal, etc etc etc in the real mid table
Newcastle takeover looks like might go through then. Add them to the state back oil clubs with city and psg then
The potential owners are with £230b! To put that in perspective...Man City owners are 'only' worth £23b
I personally think we need to replace spurs with someone actually big in the esl anyway so what not newkie arabia. I await the day when nobody uses oil and these clubs are bankrupted. Its only 20 years away.
You don't think they're already sticking their fingers in as many other pies as possible in order to offset that?
It's ok though - thanks to the likes of Gary Neville and co, they defeated the evil greedy owners and ESL. But nothing said about a regime that literally murders people, who are ok to takeover Newcastle ...
I honestly can see Newcastle being in the top 3 within the next 2-3 years. They WILL do everything in their power to achieve that. It is not a sporting matter any more. It will be about the geopolitics of the Middle East. As the major power in the region, the Saudis just cannot afford to let the upstarts of UAE upstage them. So the recruitment of the best players in the world and an elite manager will start immediately. That will be the strength of the clubs in 3 years: Newcastle City Chelsea We will be competing with the likes of MU and Arsenal and Spurs to get into that top 4. The English football environment is changing in front of our eyes.
they can't stick enough fingers in various orifices to compensate really. I eman its their natural resource to exploit but unless they've every bit as much battery raw materials to strip mine they are not in a great position. same for qatar and UAE, the day is coming that the desert will cover over their shiny metropolises . a billion is actually chicken feed to these guys to throw about on players and fake sponsorships. but the real question is if theres no oil to back these dictator/royalties what happens? IS rolls in and all sport is banned etc? look what the chinese did to inter then suddenly plug gets pulled. They even just up and closed down their own local team totally. the day city and cheslea crumble under the model and newcastle cna join them and PSG too. that will be a good day for the world of football in general.
1. Sack Bruce and get Conte on a multi million pound contract and assurances of world class player recruitment. 2. In January buy the best players available. There are many players available on a free in a few months. So a reasonable offer might entice the clubs. Pogba anyone? Top offers for others might persuade the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona to sell some of their best players. A few wins at the bottom will be enough to stave off relegation. A summer spree will transform the club and the team.
I don't think they'll go down this season* but I doubt they'll be attracting the likes of Conte and Pogba straight away. *fantastic news for me
Difficult for ordinary folks like us to comprehend but £200-300Bn can buy you lots of things including people originally thought out of reach. If an elite manager is being paid £20m a year, would they not be attracted by a new challenge and £40m? These sums may be massive in the current context but to the Saudis they are just insignificant amounts. How much is Mbappe or Neymar being paid? What about doubling that? What we deem abnormal will soon be the routine.
