Theory is that Cavani will switch to 21, which is the number he wears for Uruguay. ManU just sold James to Leeds, guess which number James had been wearing..... 21
ooooohhhhh its all kicking off. Real have called in their servants in the league to go to bat for them. Club-states are as dangerous as the Super League' La Liga president Javier Tebas has taken aim at PSG in a furious Twitter tirade. “Club-states are as dangerous to the football ecosystem as the Super League. We were critical of the Super League because it destroys European football and we are just as critical of PSG. Covid losses + 300M; TV revenue in France -40%; And + 500M in salaries? Untenable.” It is astounding that REAL can get this guy to comment and refer to the super league they are still in PSG lost 300mil in the year, tv revenues collapse, they pay massive wages and yet can turn down in effect 200million euros and see it vanish in 12 months. Just cos its political the guys is not wrong.
His wage demands were a bit rich for us apparently, its a slightly odd transfer to Chelsea. Almost like an 'anywhere that can afford me' type deal. Bullet dodged I reckon.
There was a time a few years ago when Spurs seemed to go for any player linked to us; they passed the mantle on to Chelsea. This Saul deal is a Werner copycat.
Yeah it gave the impression of whoring himself out to the highest bidder. Which is fair enough if he applies himself to whoever gets him, so Chelsea. Not sure Klopp would have wanted that attitude.
Chelsea seem to have gone back to the early Abramovich days where they bought up players so no-one else could have them. The edentulism of FFP has given them carte blanche it seems.
Depends a bit on the attitude behind it. Doing your best and seeing where it takes you is very much a Klopp attitude; half-arsing and not caring about the outcome less so. And to be fair "Give it a go and see what happens" also seems to be Chelsea's attitude to Saul, so it goes both ways I think.
odd comment this saint seeing as we spent less than you this transfer window how are you man? all good? please log in to view this image
So net spend is a thing when it suits, but when Rafa was in charge and spoke about it, he was talking twaddle Ive said for a while chelsea took advantage of ffp a season or two before it came in but buying about 50 young players leading up to it. Shoving them out on loan for numerous years so their costs aren’t included in any calculation and then when you sell them for 5-10m, it’s just pure profit. It’s smart business and can’t argue it from that perspective even if morally it kind of defeats the point. Also managed to get big money for some dross players somehow. Saying all that the wages you give to some of the players is mental. No wonder hudson odoi didnt want to go anywhere, he’s getting 150k a week at chelsea! Wouldn't even command half of that at any other club in the world.
That was 10 years ago, i'm pretty sure we didn't have a bunch of 8 year olds signed up so we could sell them this season . As for that tactic, that's a favoured move from liverpool nowadays (brewster, solanke, etc). Smart business as you say. You guys are the boss at getting great money from dross (ibe, that random aussie left back, basically selling to bournemouth). Not sure how we pretty much took a 10m loss on morata though considering he was **** and out of favour.
It started 10 years ago but you still do it. You sell 10 of them, but another 4 or 5 youth players plus some big name first team players and rinse and repeat. Plus add in a few of your own academy players in there (which is arguably a very good academy). It’s not a dig, it’s smart work and essentially if your academy isn’t furnishing you with players it’s job is to make some money which is what you’re has done. you loaned out 17 players this summer, I’d imagine it’s similar numbers every year. Say 1m loan fee on average, that’s nearly 20m money to spend on someone there, plus any saved wages.
You're right. We sold Grujic to Porto for £10.5m and Grabara to Copenhagen for £3.5m. Shaqiri was £9.5m and also sold Millar to Basel for £1.3m. We spent £36m and received £52.3m.
It’s listed as a loan with a commitment to buy on transfer market. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marko-grujic/profil/spieler/222813
our website confirms it’s a perm deal https://www.liverpoolfc.com/amp/new...o-grujic-seals-permanent-transfer-to-fc-porto
