The option of completing the league in July and August isn’t possible imo. Due to the fact that so many players across the league will go out of contract on 30th June, plus the transfer window will be open. If it’s not done and dusted by the end of June I don’t see how it can be completed.

Arteta did Pep a favour but didn't do any other Arsenal employees a favour.

Summed up to me by a United supporter in work today taking the official Diego line, with the shroud-waving and faux concern for the dying. 'Needs to end now and be terminated for the health of the country'. 'well okay, but technically Liverpool could have been caught, I suppose'. 'Oh no, I mean it needs to be null and void. It's the fairest for everyone'.

I summary - 'It needs to be terminated now for the good of the country - but only if they do it in the way that I want'. Hmm, so it's not THAT important to nation's health then. :emoticon-0143-smirk

How do you make that out? who can reasonably complain if the season is void and nobody gains or loses anything they didn't have before since they didn't win or lose anything in reality.

Leicester would certainly be losing something...

The bottom three would absolutely be gaining too, especially Norwich!

Most experts who aren't actually speaking on behalf of the government seem to be suggesting that this'll rumble on for months, that it won't even peak in the UK for 10-12 weeks even. If the truth is anywhere close to that, there'll be no sports until well into June or beyond. Whatever decision is made, there'll be plenty of disgruntled fans/owners/sponsors/etc. UEFA just have to try and make the least damaging call, when they have enough information to do so which might not be for a long time, but it'll likely just be repeated delays and postponements for the time being. Weeks into further weeks.

**** all we can do other than wait and see. Only thing we know is that it'll be a right ****ing mess.

At least you're couching that as your opinion, unlike Diego averring that it must be done in such and such a way. Okay, I disagree (and FIFA have the power to issue contract waivers if the players agree, but put that to one side), but if it has to be called a day at the end of July (not June, the contract issue aside, that's just an arbitrary line), why doesn't it end on where it is now? Why is Diego's wish/solution more reasonable or likely? And has anyone from the prem expressed anything that gives Diego the reason to be so confident in his statement?

Why would Leicester be losing and Norwich be gaining?
There are 27 points left to play for, anything can happen as you should well know after your last 5 games.

My Dad is 88 and my Mum 85 I am worried about visiting them in I case infect them without knowing I have the virus. Worrying times and I don't care about winning the league, I am more concerned about them surviving this crap. My 22 yr old daughter also is receiving treatment for a heart condition which means her immune system is wiped out so she is very vulnerable. If your only concern is whether LFC will win the Prem then you are very lucky, and completely inconsiderate.

The teams to be promoted, the teams that have qualified for the CL (not those who haven't :emoticon-0143-smirk) for starters.

It would be incredibly unfair to relegate the bottom 3 as it stands given the financial impact, espescially Villa who are 2 points from safety having played a game less.

There's no easy answer and no matter what angle you take there's huge issues to be overcome. I certainly can't see any football being played until May/June at the absolute earliest.

I am not confident in my statement as it's a view not a statement.
It's based on the fact that there is a very limited time in which to play the league (many already suggest it's too congested) and players need a break at some point.
If they take the league into June/July then start again in August can you imagine the amount of supporters whinging about tiered player and no proper pre-season?

Then of course you could always start next season later and make it much more congested in order to play both the Euros and WC prelims next year, where does it end? the only way is to abort one season and start again unless everything gets back to normal by April 3rd in which case we should cope.
