I believe offside should be based on players boots only. We could even look at using microchips for offside then
Manchester City Could Have Two Premier League Titles Taken Away From Them https://www.sportbible.com/football...r-league-titles-taken-away-from-them-20200216
Was a few months back now but he basically said keep same technology and lines but use it in reverse so if any part of attackers body that they can score with is onside then it’s onside I liked that idea Tbf
It would give the benefit to the attacker though whatever they decide on it will end up being what it is now as you are either onside or offside But I like the idea of giving the attacker the benefit couple the change with a time limit and tbh no reason it can’t be as short as 10 secs I think it would be as sorted as it can I would much rather be pissed off that someone’s armpit was offside and it be consistent than 5m onside like sterling against city when he was with us or mane against arsenal when it just a ****ed up decision lol
Nah, cause then an attacker could be some distance offside, but his heel still onside. The human body can stretch and lean some distance. A time limit would be a good idea.
All for the benefit being to the attacker mate. Just the discussion was about improving VAR and I doubt that suggestion would make any difference
Newcastle playing well against Arsenal. Arsenal resorting to constant fouls similar to the way City play.
I've read a fair bit on vars usage in other countries and they've managed it quite well, in general followed the guidelines with a healthy dose of common sense and it's all good. It's not only our fa that have ballsed it up, but it's the biggest contender. No pitch side monitor, 5 minutes to make a decision on the tiniest of margins, the var official not having a clue & going back minutes into the build up to see if there was an infraction, all things that have been done wrong that other countries have done right from the get go because they happily followed the suggestions rather than thinking they new better
Conor Coady summed it up asking Mike Dean what had happened walking back to the tunnel at half time. He couldn't explain who/where the infringement took place "so you're reffereeing the game but you don't know?" Madness
iverpool legend Steven Gerrard says he is "really interested" to see if the Premier League takes action against Manchester City after UEFA found the club guilty of "serious breaches" of financial regulations. City have been given a two-year ban from European competition by the football governing body. The Manchester side were also hit with a 30million euros (£24.9million) fine - and they are appealing the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. PA reports that Pep Guardiola's outfit could also possibly lose their 2014 league title if a separate Premier League investigation finds that they breached financial rules - which City deny - and points are deducted retrospectively. Gerrard was captain of the Reds when they finished two points behind City in 2013/14. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gerrard-liverpool-man-city-ban-17759859
Disappointed Jose the same, not trying to deflect from Gerrard but i just do not get it It is not how i would want to win a title Seems empty and childish Plus it was not the players or managers fault Just dont get it
With respect, as fans we're not winning it - we're enjoying watching them win it. As the athelete/competitor you'd certainly want the recognition if you had been cheated out of victory.
