It was until the Leeds owner got banned! I actually like Monk and think he's a decent young manager, but I thought it was a bad job to take. He failed at Swansea because of circumstances beyond his control.
I predicted them to finish 5th, which looks increasingly likely with each passing week. After the start they got off to, I don't think anyone saw this coming. That was until they visited a nice little stadium in N17... Looking through the predictions, quite a number of people had them down to finish 4th. Very few tipped them for the title. I honestly thought United would clinch the big one. Perhaps given another £200m to spend The Special Once might have the decency to do so.
If you look at the earlier predictions (the first page for example) most have City first or second. Later as we saw more of them it changed but of course they had a fantastic start. 10 srtraight wins.
Looking back, quite a few of us predicted us for top 2!! Kane still well in the running for top scorer and of course we're still in the FA Cup. Lamela was predicted for a big season by a lot of us, shame he got injured. Whoever wins the league will get manager of the season because the three most tipped candidates are in their first year at their clubs (Pep, Moan, Conte), Poch and Klopp are seen as more outsiders for the title (us more than Pool) and if Arsenal win it, god forbid, then Wenger will probably retire and will get it as a reward for his career at L'Arse.
Huddlefro and Animo et Fide were both spectacular. The latter got the top three, which was a hell of a thing this year. WY gets a lot of credit in my book for getting the top 6 exactly right--except that, like me, he didn't foresee Chelsea picking up where they left off two years ago. The difference is, WY's top five were exactly right except for Chelsea. My top four flipped Man CIty and Arsenal (along with also missing Chelsea completely). At any rate, even my predictions were, as I predicted, a hell of a lot better than the pundits as a group--especially when people realize the real league title is for GD . Add in that I got top scorer, league cup, Alli with an award (albeit the wrong one), Man U sixth and Juve for CL and I find myself asking...why the hell are most of these pundits getting paid? Top Scorer: Kane P.O.T.S: Lamela Y.P.O.T.S: Alli Surprise team of the season: Mousers Signing of the season: Ibrahimovic, or Llorente Champions League: Athletico Europa League: Manure Manager of the season: Poch[/QUOTE]
You could, but the wise Spurs supporter will wait to see what the entire set of BBC football "reporters" / "pundits" predict first. < rwaeb >
I'd like to be the first to predict that Lawro will predict that the mousers will win the CL. Next year is their year you know.
Might be an idea if you predict that they finish 19th next year. With a bit of luck you might get a brace.
