In your opinion. As Fats says, there are many people who will struggle to make Friday night games. And why is it OK for Sky to dictate people's lives like this just because they have paid a lot of money? You make it sound like they are a charity or something.
Ok Tom, I'll stop now, but will just say that may be, just may be you could be less unsympathetic when suggesting it's easy to do things like that. Show just a little bit more class. Or shall I book mark this page (to coin your phrase) for when you lose your rag when something changes that you don't like... I am sure your reaction would be nice and calm and accepting.
I'm happier that it's an away game rather a home game. Would have been another non-Saturday 3pm home game otherwise (particularly in a season with EL football). As far as I can recall, there are 12 Friday night games this season, and Sky have said that they aim to show every PL club at least once. So 20 clubs to fill 24 spaces almost certainly means just the one Friday night game for us. I imagine the extra four spaces will be filled by the likes of Utd or City having two Friday night fixtures. So a brand new experience for us at the start of the season, but then back to normal for the remaining 36 games.
The real reason this fixture has been changed is to put us off our stride and try to break their 0-1 losing run that we have over them..... Can't believe no one else has thought that
On the basis that we were due to get a Friday one at some point, I'd prefer it to be an away game. If home games get moved to Friday nights or Monday nights I generally can't make them. As a teacher, it doesn't go down well if I tell them I ned Friday afternoon off so someone will have to cover Year 10 Maths so that I can go to the football. But if it does happen later this season I'll pass on Tom's details to the Head and see how it goes.
I must admit it's not so black and white to get a week day off even with notice. Some of us do have a life outside football (yep really!) [emoji6]. Not all all employers are football fans either so are not so understanding. Whilst I can ask for time off, it doesn't mean I will get it. It may depend on others in team and workload etc, so I don't really think it is tough **** as you put it.
Presumably we'll have a Friday home game some time this season, and some season ticket holders won't be able to make it because of work. That's the big problem.
Think of the poor Utd fans that have to get to Manchester on a Friday...........long way from Exeter.
Why? Everyone's known for ages games will be moved to Friday night. And when it actually happens people think Sky are complete ****s for doing it. It may be inconvenient but Sky has given everyone plenty of notice.
As I thought, 12 games: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/sky-sports-reveal-first-premier-8367922 Really can't see us getting any more Friday night games, home or away, therefore.
I'd only be repeating what others have already said so im not going to enter into an argument with you. I like your blunt opinions, but sometimes you just come across as a whiney little b*tch, who I think would annoy me in person.
Had hoped to go to this one, even if it had been moved to Saturday lunch, evening or Sunday. Friday night and Monday are really quite inconvenient to say the least. I understand the deal with Sky, but surely they should only be doing these for games where it takes a couple of hours to travel to (i.e. a London game for us). Alas, I will be going to Arsenal and West Ham. So no matter.
I'll have to put a proposal on the table to the committee. A round of drinks at the old Farmhouse might help
