I go racing there two or three times a year and niece is at uni so always go and see her too. Fantastic place.
Used to love the dog races, old man used to take me as a youngun down Walthamstow. Never been to a horse race though, been invited to Cheltenham a few times but all the big races seem a bit pretentious and I don't like to gamble, or wear a suit not even for court I should probably go one day for the experience.
Don't have to wear a suit at Cheltenham ... it's Royal Ascot that has the strict dress code ... but even then, if you're against suits, a nice cocktail dress would suffice ... but you'll also need a hat
Of course. Silly to think a Liverpool fan would live there I guess. Lots of horse racing in Liverpool, seemed odd that York would be the first time you'd been but makes sense now.
