Finishing position: 11th

League Cup: Semis

FA Cup: 4th

Breakthrough Player: Hojbjerg. And Djenepo.

Biggest Surprise: We offload Elyounoussi to some La Liga team. He ends up having a solid season there and is later sold for a decent profit. It won’t be that much of a surprise to me. But it will be for everyone else.

I know Hojbjerg is already in the first team and people already think he is good, but I think he has another level in him. He lacked a bit of maturity on the pitch last year, but I think he will have learned.

I’m still not convinced we don’t move Boufal. But if he stays, I just don’t think he has the passing vision to be the player people hope for. I am sure he will lead the team or maybe even league in successful dribbles and whatnot if he starts. That’s never been a problem for him. I also don’t think he sucks. I think his best role will be as a second half sub where he can take advantage of tiring legs and I also think he will be quite effective in that capacity and win a few games for us.

League Cup Round? Qtrs

FA Cup Round? Semi

Breakthrough player? (can be a younger player or a player not really in the first team a lot last year) che adams

Biggest surprise? (can be anything Saints related) our defence

Yep. That is my prediction for this season I’m afraid. I’m often wrong though.

I predict Valery will be our player of the season btw

Rubbish. He’s a defender and only by running through ten players and scoring a worldie can you be considered player of the season.

Boufal - It will be interesting to see burnley as he is exactly the sort of player we need against them. In the past we’ve needed someone to upset their discipline and organisation. If he gets a start it will be a good indicator for the season.

If he doesn’t, he will probably pack a sad and get decked in the car park by the manager after calling him out.

Didn't he lose his dad a couple of days ago? Wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't in the squad.

How much did he cost? No team in La Liga is going to pay anywhere near what Saints paid for him, not even the likes of Valencia or Sevilla, the teams at the next level down below the big 3, would cough up that kind of money. As for any other team, forget it. Same with all the other leagues, so Saints either try to get their money´s worth out of him, or fix him up with a loan between now and the end of August.

PS: Glasgow Rangers are always on the lookout.

PS: Celtic have sold a left back. Does any think they might be interested in either Bertrand or McQueen?

Wow. No idea but that’s a **** way for anyone to start a new season. If that’s the case then yeah not much chance of him being ready for a wee while.

Yes, of course? Not understanding the issue.

We will sell Elyounoussi pretty cheap to get rid of him, which will allow him to go to a smaller La Liga or European side where he will also be more likely to start. I think he will do well. Not Barca well, but well enough to attract interest from larger, maybe mid-size clubs. The fact that they will be able to buy him so cheap from us is exactly why they're going to make a profit.

Misread! I was reading that as SFC making a profit and there´s you thinking he Will be sold to a La Liga team relatively cheaply, has a good enough season to attract a buyer. This is the profit you meant.

However, let´s hope he has a mindset to make his way into the starting and starts playing to his ability. After all, wasn´t 20 million shed on him in the first place?

I don’t think it’s up to him at this point. Hasenhüttl has more-or-less issued a “Come take him” plea.

I’m not arguing that Elyounoussi is a fantastic player and will make us rue the day we dropped him. Just that he’s probably much better than people think he is. But he does not fit Hasenhüttl’s style and we need to clear some space so it makes sense to move him.
