Considering our 5-1 thrashing of Scunthorpe, and we failed to repeat that against Preston, I'm going for the repeat here with a 5-0 pasting of Ipswich.
The one major thing in our favour is that Bullard and Norris are both out and they're their best two players, that might be enough to swing it our way and Strovolos is right, if we have play-off aspirations we do need to win games like this.
Ipswich are replacing Jimmy with Andy Drury, who will be making his home début, having just signed from Luton. At 28, he's left it a bit late to forge a career in professional football.
I hope delaney has one of those off days like he used to when he was with us...thing is, he is their most consistant player by all accounts this season. I can't see us losing but then they are on form and are good at home and Paul Jewel is a god manager (despite his time at Derby) so he will be up for this one and will have done his homework. We need to go out and defend well as a team and get them on the counter...it is the only way we will get something from them away from home. 2-2 for me...would love the 3 points though. UTT
Looking at the line they will probably put out, against our settled line up bar NP wanting to try Hobbs. I would say Ipswich 1-2 Hull City, BUT & i underline this for a reason Connor Wickam only 18 by the way (shouldn't he be on our books by now NP) is putting himself in the shop window & is being tracked by some premier clubs, so will want to put on a display similar to the Doncaster game. Keep him quiet & they are there for the taking. UTT
We need to be set up physically, and mentally for to go out and get all 3 points. As others have already said, if we want to be in with a chance of a play off position, we can not afford to drop any points.
Ipswich will be shot after banging in 6 the other night, imagine the stress that must have brought about We will win by a landslide (but the betting mans money will go on a score draw).
No over-optimism or anything? They are missing Bullard and their captain David Norris but still have a strong squad. Keane brought in a lot of quality players like Leadbitter, Carlos Edwards and Jason Scotland who haven't really lived up to their price tag (Phil Brown moment there). Still, Wickham looks a hell of a player and we'll do well to stop him. 2-1 Ipswich unfortunately
No over optimism, I think we'll have too much for them pace wise. Bring them back down to earth with a bang.
