Yeah that's probably for the best. Surely people at least read the OP? I know some might not, but most will. Even if they don't a simple direction -- read the OP! -- is easier than explaining the rules every single week. ;P
Just make it clear in the ruling that if more than one player is predicted then you will use the first name only. If they don't read it, they don't read it, but at least you can refer to it if someone argues
I don't always read the OP, especially on this prediction threads as it is fairly obvious what it is about. Of course, I did read the very first one but I too fell foul of the one player prediction rule at first
The one scorer thing has probably tripped the most people up. I remember (?) a few questions about it on the first prediction thread.
Yeah, sorry about that, I never got around to reading the original thread. To be fair, if someone picks 2 names perhaps that could mean they're specifically saying both will score, not either of. That's what I was saying, but i'll pick one. Liverpool 3-1 United (Suarez)
IBWT: You beat me to it - that's exactly what I was going to go for. In which case, I'm going to go for a less likely result. Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd (Gerrard). I'm trying the old reverse psychology trick on fate. I can't see us winning. I can't see United not scoring. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet, and I can't see Stevie scoring tomorrow. Time for a miracle...if I want my winning prediction to succeed, anyway. I see either a draw or a loss for us tomorrow, unfortunately, but sometimes you just have to stick your neck out. Here's to our massive victory (if the ploy works on lady luck)! I'll happily forfeit points if we can get a win over the Salford swine.
