Blue Sheep, Please note I have just dropped one of the dim`s off my name. I suspected that people were beginning to think that I was stupid!
I am in and can not wait. Not sure what i am looking forward to more this or the actual season. Plz do my preview PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!
Was just bout to PM you bout this but obviously you are all knowing Thai.... ThaiCanary (Div 1: 19th R) Only saved from finishing last by Proph going bust, Thaiâs own absence after the Blackpool games lead to his own relegation. Before that Thaiâs form had been relatively promising and will certainly be looking to compete in the second tier to confirm an immediate return. Despite this, Thai still finished as the highest ranked foreign player but may face some competition from the Jacks for this award next season! The Exile (Div 2: 6th) It will be interesting to see how Ex responds to that Play Off final defeat to ccfcrtOp. After coming within one game of reaching the First Division, will this fuel the desire to gain promotion or will it be a mid-table struggle for the Exile? After a fairly solid start to the season Ex needed a late CS and several CR to secure the third playoff spot. He then became the favourite to win the playoffs after a record smashing 14 points to take Bfb out of the frame. But it was not to be and he will be smarting to go one step further next season. bluebird_nat (Div 1: 4th) Despite leading the league for the majority of the season, at one point holding a 5 point lead at the top, Nat slipped away at the key stage. A run of only 3 points from 15 games saw her slip out of contention but a late CS against Derby managed to secure a top four finish. After a fine first season performance, add a little bit more consistency and the title could be a real possibility. Domdimdomdim (Div 2: 3rd P) Secured the last automatic promotion with a point against Palace but the damage was really done with the late CSâs against Birmingham and Barnsley to take advantage of the situation. After a jittery start Dom brought it round to propel himself into the top flight but how will he cope in with the big boys?
Irishbluebird (Div 1: 3rd) I think it says a lot about the league when the winner of the Golden Boot finishes third. Despite a record breaking 8 CS’s Irish fell to third by a point despite climbing to the summit less than two weeks before. Irish will be looking to be in the mix and the second chance at honours and to carve his name upon the trophy. ccfcrtOp (Div 2: 4th P) Ccfc would have been kicking himself after actually topping the division himself only to blow it and slip out towards the end. However, he quickly managed to focus himself and after overcoming Sparky in the playoff semi’s he then nailed the Spammers – Blackpool game to beat Exile and seize the last promotion slot. Hope you enjoy ccfcrtOp and cheers Swamp
I'll be in please!! With many gracious thanks for all the hard work. Lack of internet ruined my chances last season, that and unwarranted optimism. Come on you BlueRedDragonBirds!
Unibrumbluebird (Div 2: 8th) A very intermittent season from UniBrum, especially towards the end of the season which resulted in him losing the Playoff spot to Sparky. Cited internet problems for his lack of predicting but will be looking to get a steadier rate in for the coming season as when he predicted he actually topped the Second tier just after Christmas. Will be looking to challenge this year.
Blue Sheep, are you a journalist? If not you should be. Your writing is much better than the local rags! Brilliant effort in getting the new PL going and judging by the response I think you're going to have a record entry this year. Well done and many thanks.
I am always on your board BS so was always going to see this thread I just don't have much to say without games to comment on hence you do not hear from me every few days
count me in please. I am returning forn Baku at the end of the month so will be more in touch with things, specially the midweek games. Am I relegated by the way?
Gutted. Just read page 1 and not even in the old list let alone any glossary. Maybe I'll go and join Rubber ball on the non-talkers prediction list.
Snags you missed out on inclusion into the Top Division halfway through last season and since there's no relegtion from Div 2, you couldn't be relegated. Your preview will be up later. Didn't read page 1 clearly? Those lists are for people who have commented an are reclaiming their place so your name will be placed in them shortly
Privatebenjamin (Div 2 1st C) A thrilling Division Two title race was swung round brilliantly as Private snatched back to back CS against Derby and Barnsley to secure the Second Division Title. Benjy round off a hatrick of awards by claiming the Silver boot, for a joint best 17 CR’s, and took the Predictor of the Month Award for April to round of a successful first season. His crucial 6 points late on was a real smash and grab after a reliable season. So after such a promising first season, surely the pressure is on this season to prove why he won the title but how will he cut it in the top tier? BLUEBIRDS (Div 1: 9th) A late run of back to back CS’s against Derby and Barnsley allowed Blue to sneak back into the top 10 after a campaign of high accuracy thanks to the 14 CR’s. Another season of close margins would suit Blue just fine but he must surely be looking up. The Masked Man (Div 1: 5th) A really impressive season from Masked lead to him only just missing out on a top 4 finish, in a very Newcastle like manner! He showed clear intent from the start opening his account with two straight Correct Scores before remarkably enters 9 straight 1-0 Cardiff predictions as he left on holiday, a technique that brought mixed results. Will be looking to build on a grand opening season and break into top 4 this coming year. Bissmit (Div 1: 12th) After a slow start (a point and 5 no predictions) a quick double of CS brought Bissmit the Predictor of the Month award for September and looked as though he was going to threaten a top 10 finish. However, the rest of the season was dogged by continued lack of predictions dropping him down the league. It did result in Bissmit having the joint best return of 6 CS from 36 games but full potential was missed out on. This will have to change if Bissmit is to improve. Rhondda54_DJ (Div 1:13th) One of only two to bag a CS on the opening day of the season. Unfortunately, it was another 25 games before another one was caught and Rhondda only just managed to keep his Division One status this May, thanks to 4 points from the last 3 games. With a slight rebranding (Nothing major) and a new set of rules, Rhondda will be hoping to survive by a comfortable margin this season. Xsnaggle (Div 2: 14th) Snag’s constant prediction of a 3-1 city win for all of the 26 games he predicted worked badly a lot less than it was correct. This limited him to a bottom half finish before he dropped out just past the half-way point. Room for improvement in the imagination department required.
