So yeh a cracking final 10 minutes in a cagey tough final settled by the final goal of Phillips long career (I think?) Could never see Palarse winning let alone keeping 3 straight clean sheets so to see them dominate against Watford foreign merchant. What a story for Holloway as well. But I know what you're all really waiting to find out is whether it is Sparky and Ex who will reach the First Division..... ahahah Well here is the final result of the season! Oldsparkey 1 - 4 The Exile Yep Exile (finally) secures a place in the First Division with a commanding win over unlucky Sparks. Ex gambled on the unfancied Palace who proved that anything can happen in the Playoff Final. A point from each of the categories, as well as that well guessed Phillips score trumps Sparkys point for no red cards. It's unlucky on Sparks, after a thoroughly convincing semi final win and it looked as though he may benefit from that final day magic but the 2012 - 2013 Playoff winner is The Exile!!! If I haven't mentioned it before (!) Ex has a had several flirts with promotion over the last year, defeated in last years Playoff final before missing out to JH in the Christmas promotion and then managing to collaspe in 2nd half of the season despite starting with a six point lead at the top to finally finish fourth. But now Ex has banished this hoodoo and will predict in the Top Flight for the first time next season. Well Done! And now for my final thanks to H for all his hard work and to all you who predicted! Sorry Oldsparkey, looks like you were taken from behind again! I think I have been imitating Cardiff for the for the last couple of play-offs, and finally get promoted in the same year.... Yee Haa.
Off for a meal now Exile, and a couple of bottles of Cahors (it would have been Chateaux Neuf du Pape if I'd won ) to drown my sorrows. I'll have clean underpants on for tomorrow though.
