haha, I was so confident that was going to finish 2-1 in my favor that I didnt even finish the game and went up on the roof and cleaned the chimney instead.
You're the only one out of 32 this week to pick a Spurs win, let alone a 1-2 win ! Good job you've cleaned the chimney - with your foresight Santa will be happy with your consideration !!
Tickles says I should have had 3 last week and Tickles is always right, so I'll have an extra point. Ta.
Keep up OLM - post #750 indicates you managed 3 pts - Tickles was looking at Saturday's scores (OLM = 2) - daft sod he is. I just edited that posting after Sunday's results (pointed out in post # 752).
Well thats just silly Spurs were due the win, and they are not good enough this season to win by more than one very often and not good enough to stop Swansea from scoring a goal so 2-1 victory for Spurs made all the sense to me. Less concerned with Santa and more concerned with a chimney fire as my house is heated by a wood stove so there is almost always a fire going this time of year.
Planning for fixture selections for Christmas & New Years holiday period. Games come thick & fast between Boxing Day and Jan 3rd/4th's 3rd Round of the FA Cup. Friday Dec 26th...essentially a full set of fixtures across all 4 divisions. Sunday Dec 28th...likewise across all 4 divisions. Sat 3rd-Sun Jan 4th..FA Cup Rd 3...all Premier League & Championship teams involved plus sundry wannabe giant-killing clubs. There's also a full Premier League schedule of fixtures on Thurs Jan 1st, but no Championship, L1 or L2 games. Many participants are likely to be travelling, or at least be particularly busy over this period with family stuff etc, so this is what I'd like to propose for this intense period. 1) Ignore January 1st games entirely - no selections for that day. 2) Whoever selects fixtures for Dec 26th ALSO selects a set for Dec 28th and a set for the Jan 3/4 FA Cup weekend and publishes all 3 sets in the same post. 3) The Dec 26th and Dec 28th sets would be as normal......5 premier league, 3 championship & one game from each of L1 and L2. 4) For the Jan 3rd/4th FA Cup fixtures, each fixture must contain AT LEAST ONE premier league team. *you never know - it may boost our points totals ? Finally, for my own sanity in keeping track of and publishing results I'd like to request that ALL THREE SETS of predictions be submitted in the same post by each participant. Otherwise I'll be searching around multiple pages checking all over the place for matching up by date etc. A right bloody pain it was last year. ( It was compounded because we had a major ice-storm which knocked out power in my home for 6 days). Finally finally: Who's gonna volunteer to set the fixtures for these 3 sets ?? I would suggest a mid-day (UK time) Tuesday 23rd Dec deadline for posting the 3 sets of fixtures. This hopefully would maximize the chances of participants being able to submit their entries. (Particularly those lads who live in Oz who are hours ahead of the UK, and perhaps the odd one in Europe) Cheers Thoughts ?
Just my opinion Fez but I'd wait until this weekend's fixtures have been completed or it'll just make it look messy #OCDAlert
Good man Fez, much appreciated. As Sir Cheshire Ben suggests, holding off 'til this weekends games are over will keep it cleaner...so Monday 22nd at the earliest, say mid-day. If that's inconvenient (e.g. you think you'll not be able to get onto the site 'cos you're gonna be stuck up the Himalayas or something) , you could always send them to me in a PM ahead of Monday & I'll copy & paste them & post on your behalf. Thanks again Fez.
No sweat. I slightly maligned Tickles - he must have been looking at the edited post, post Sunday's results, and trying to be funny. Apologies Tickles, but he (Tickles) deserves malignment for creating more work for me
Aye, I thought that lads. I'll post sometime Monday, late morning hopefully as got a boozy lunch with a few mates. No problem doing this, it's a drop in the ocean of the effort you put in for us all, mate.
Cheers Fez. Can you do me a favour when you post the 3 sets ? ....add a strong note to say that all 3 sets of predictions should be posted together BEFORE 3pm GMT Boxing Day kick-offs on Friday Dec 26th. I'll institute a 5 point penalty for those who don't comply !!!! Only plausible reasons for not doing so will be reviewed. Yourself, Sir Ben & myself can be the disciplinary committe for miscreants..... (I'm beginning to sound like Ricardo !) Thanks mate.
