I don't see them selling Lascelles if I'm honest unless he forces a move out due to lack of game time. There's a few that they will want to keep in the dressing room for their experience. I could see Murphy or Miggy possibly leaving, Matty Longstaff, Clarke, Fernandez, Manquillo, Gayle.

Gayle will probably be a loan with us paying 50% of his wage.

As for why do I want them to spend more money than what was stated?

I don't believe Saudi Arabia have come into this not to blow Qatar and Abu Dhabi out the water and it's as simple as that.

If I am in negotiations with the PL to get a rejected takeover to pass and I'm trying to garner support from other clubs chairmen to perhaps drop their concerns, I'm hardly likely to tell everyone that I plan on investing £1billion within 5 years am I?

Like I said you've decided to ignore the actual evidence and try and find a way to explain it to your satisfaction.

You're basically saying I just don't see why or they'd hardly do this or that.

All we have is the actual evidence and anything else is mental gymnastics.

If you have some evidence then I'm happy to look at it.

I get I can be negative, but holy **** you lads are putting a lot of faith in Callum "Mr. Glass" Wilson and Ryan "Bilbo" Fraser. I get at times Wilson can be formidable, less convinced on Fraser (who said "go back 3 years"? I can go back 3 years and Rashford was a World beater, Werner was an exceptional striker and Maguire was a competent defender - times change).

I think we really need a RW and CF, minimum. I think not bothering in these positions would be a grave mistake. You just don't want Almiron, Fraser, Wood or Murphy in the team if you can help it, but we're literally one hamstring tweak away from one of those playing 8 matches. Murphy and Wood in particular send shivers.

Anyway, nice to hear positive noises about Diaby today.

Agreed we need another striker, but the prospect of Wilson and Fraser together at times will be interesting.

Wilson as a 2nd choice would be amazing.

Wilson will be 1st choice and if he's fit there's very little chance of Newcastle bringing in a better striker this window.

When he signed I didn't realise he's was a that good, but he fast, strong as **** and scores goals..

He is so ridiculously much better than I was expecting in fairness when we signed him. He can head the ball, fox in the box, poacher inside the 6 yard box, holds it up well. can dribble and has a bit of flair about him. He really is a very good striker, if only we could keep him fit for 38 games a season.

Honestly think he could force his way in to the England WC squad if he bangs in 10+ goals by Xmas, past Kane his competition is Abrahams, Bamford and DCL - they might all have more potential than him but if there is an injury to Abrahams, DCL is out of form and Bamford hasn't shone I'd be looking at Wilson (if fit and firing) thinking that he could add some experience and knowledge to the group the younger ones don't have. He's a good target player and seems like a genuinely good guy and Trippier can vouch for him to Southgate...

Would be nice... Doubt Youri will come, but have a faint hope that Diaby does... Really hope that one comes off.

I doubt Burn will be ahead of Schar.

For me, with how good he was after joining, the only thing against it is the 2 x left footers at CB. He was immense for us last season.

He was solid enough but i don't know about immense, he also kept rushing out at times and leaving big gaps.

I'm not a massive fan of him tbh, he is decent enough cover for next season though, certainly better than Lascelles.

I think Schar and Botman will be the first choice.

Spot on for me. He was really good at times, but as the season crept on the mistakes crept up. Was responsible for Everton and Chelsea winners. Not as good in the air as someone 6'7 should be, weirdly. Just a really good cover option in both CB and emergency LB, streets ahead of Clark.

I have a feeling Capn Fistbumps might start the season alongside Botman....

Agreed - tbh I'm happy with Willock in the CAM role tbh, after his loan spell I think he flattered to decieve a little last year but could be a big season for him. I'm hoping he can pitch in with 10 goals this year.
