Teeside's 'let's meet up thread' was one of the best I've ever seen on a forum.

Everyone, including you iirc, was honest and posted 'selfies' .......... that's summat most board's including the Mags/GF/etc couldn't ever manage.
That's because they're basically cowards who hide behind a fabricated internet persona.
The fakes, like Cest, were shown up by the fact that they ignored the thread.

WP/Neville/whoever lied and posted a photo of a businessman and made up the details.
I've no time for having discussions with some idiot making up 'stories & experiences' on here ........ but the worst thing is that he's a liar who claims to have or want tickets. That's a total fckin disgrace, in my view and wrong in every way possible. Ticket posts are sacrosanct in my opinion.

    Right lads,
Our season 'proper' starts on sunday . . . . at The Victory Club, and Smug, Young Smug, RAW and Gordon (me) will be toasting this new start with a few of these :emoticon-0167-beer:
Does anybody else fancy joining us before our first victory (yes, victory) of the season :emoticon-0142-happy

Caution suggests that we should celebrate this before the game, but a few of us are full of expectation for this match, so feel free to 'have some' with us <cheers>

    Who fancies it <hug>

I managed to jump through all the hoops on the Spurs 'free coach' website then found it doesn't stop anywhere so my son can't get on in the Midlands.
So it looks like a drive again but I'll get there somehow.

A really positive thread soon goes down hill - I'm a fairly new poster and was warned of emotional content but this is getting too personal - we are all (allegedly) SAFC fans - and those well known dark side elements - just ignore them its not worth wasting time responding - no dark thoughts here - red and white only - .............................
DA is the first experienced successful manager we've had since............??? - answers please - I can't think of any KTF and ETU

Thanks of course - my bad memories were buried deep in my head - so much hope when he came - I blame the poor transfer dealings in the board room - now wonder who was involved here - not female and Irish by any chance ..........

No idea. O'Neill probably had you playing your best football in your most recent stint in the PL, just after he arrived he had you lot firing on all cylinders if I remember correctly. Players stopped playing for him, like they did for Bruce, Di Canio, Poyet... Will Advocaat join that list?

Martin oneill had us playing the worst football we've played in the premier league. I don't think we would have gone down under him (although it would have been close), but the football was just so dire, many fans wanted him out.

Our best football in the premier league come under Bruce, albeit in a short period.. When he got his team together, gyan, welbeck, hendo, zenden, sess. We played some great football. We beat Chelsea 0-3 at Stamford bridge and it could have been 0-6.

If you get a chance, watch gyans goal for us that day against Chelsea, the football building up to it was the best I've seen from Sunderland in years.

    Edit, here's the goal

Initially yes. We played on the counter attack but it soon turned to rat ****.
Absolutely woeful, dire football & we were heading down the ****ter.
IMHO, we'd definitely gone down if we'd stuck with him.
The best premier league years were under Peter Reid, no doubt about that.
Attacking, exciting, entertaining football & the ground was buzzing.
It's just a pity we didn't have the financial clout back then to carry things on.

Yeah a lot better under Reid, that's why I said in your most recent stint mate.

I was never a huge fan of O'Neill to be honest, he was regularly linked with us, all I recall is a resurgent Sunderland when he took over from Bruce... it always baffles me how players can perform so well, then just drop off and as you say, turn to rat ****. I wasn't attempting to say it was always good under O'Neill, but in my opinion, the football he had you playing when he first arrived was really good.

Happened with us last season, playing great football for about 8 games, then nothing... nothing again this season... it's so frustrating.
