Now that the season is all but over, most of us are already looking towards the 2011-12 campaign - and so, it seems, is the club. Our pre-season friendlies have been published and are as follows:
Saturday July 9th, 3pm -- Boreham Wood (away)
Tuesday July 19th, 7.45pm -- Wealdstone (away)
Saturday July 23rd, 3pm -- AFC Wimbledon (away)
Tuesday July 26th, 7.45pm -- Brentford (away)
Saturday July 30th, 3pm -- Colchester United (away)
Saturday August 6th -- 2011-12 Championship season begins
Im aware that this point has already been made in the Nest, but i think this warrents a seperate thread - the reason for a lack of home fixtures is down the possible re-laying of the severly out-of-date Vicarage Road playing surface (though this will only take place if funds are available).
What are peoples thoughts on this? Personally id be happy for Malky's entire transfer kitty to be put towards a new surface, with the club having to make do with loan signings and free transfers. The way i see it, we'll never move forward as a club until we have a good playing surface at the Vic.
As a side note, good to see the Wombles among our pre-season opposition
