I love how Joe Allen rushed over to defend Hendo there. Very impressed with him so far this game

I like Joe Allen, just need a bit more from him on the pitch beyond energy, effort and pressing.
 
Decent enough first half with a team of only really 3 of the strongest first 11 playing.

Should have been 2 with the pen as well.

Ibe has continued his good form, Coates very good again.

Lucas, Hendo & Allen keeping possession and winning the ball back.

Lambert just needs something to go for him, the save from his header against City, now the pen, just needs to stick one away and I think he'll get over that "first goal for dream club" nerves.

I'll balance it out.
Lucas might as well be a cone, just used as a pivot to play the ball around. Allen is a try hard, but thats it. Lambert I just don't see the point, still better than Aspas I guess. Kelly, what happened to him? And Toure hasn't had the ball enough to make mistakes which is good.

I'm guessing you mean Migs, Hendo and Sterling...?
 
Let me break another obvious fact for the readers:

BR is having Sterling take on the Suarez role this season. I think Sterling will do quite a commendable job at it.

Before we go any further, I'd to declare I am taking the piss pal. I know what you're like and presumed you realised that <ok>

I actually understand where you are coming from. Just think you're being a bit harsh on Allen and Lambo really. The former is a decent player but isn't a first choice player in a title challenging side. The latter as only just joined is isn't going to be first choice.

Allen third choice for his position

Kelly third choice for his position

Lambert second choice for his position and probably will be third before transfer window ends....

What do you expect, 30 million quid players for the average of a 10 game season?

Strongest first 11. At the moment I'd put that as the below on last season and this pre-season.

Mig
Flanno Skrtel Sakho Enrique
Hendo Gerrard Cout
Sterling Sturridge Ibe?
 
Hoping Lambert is going to be Mr setplay for us, getting his head on a few corners. would prefer someone else in there though. Will give him a chance to prove me wrong. Would like to see Suso 2nd half. Hasnt had any game time in the US and deserves a chance to stake a claim.

I expect to see Markovic ahead of Ibe come the first game. Would have been between Markovic and Lallana had Adam been fit.

I don't see him playing too many games. I think he will be our plan B depending on who else we sign (if we don't get anyone then he'll be used more). I don't like signing back-up players like this tbh

Agree, but he's only played 45 minuts for us so couldn't really judge him on it.

Lallana would have been in there had he been playing and not injured as well as you say.

For £4m you could see the sense behind it though.
