Seen three games and ive had my fill of mish mash teams. I want to see a team that has some sort of cohesion and purpose next time we play.
Last night was just dull and uneventful. Syso should have had longer as with coutinho deep we were lacking creativity up top

Kelly, sorry but I see no improvement physically or mentally in a game where he wasn't exactly blitzed. I like him but I think we broke him.

Skerts, did fine but still always looks on the edge of panic. Was the high line an exaggerated effort to keep him from backing so far that he sits in the keepers lap last season? Well he still looks on the edge. It didn't work.

Coates looked calm and in control until he passed it.

Enrique did ok for first minutes on the pitch in basically a year.

Lucas was more like his busy self but as I said last night he is either still a half second too slow or trying too hard in the tackle.

Allen, usual, busy some good some loss of psession.

Ibe, shows his inexperience, the Italians showed where he hasn't developed the footballing brain yet and lapped up his naive runs.

Coutinho. Dont like that deep role or st least with those players around him. And he needs to learn to shoot.

Peterson, nice lad but this summer will be the highlight of his LFC career I fear.

Lambert, looked ok. Not great but I didn't expect him to be messi.

Can, again his drives were good, good physicality and I'll reserve judgement on him for a few games...

Can't remember anyone else so that might say something or I kept falling asleep.

Well, I'm not overly arsed about the result, to be honest. We played okay considering. I expect better performances as we progress in pre-season, obviously, but we've played (so far) two CL teams and PNE, so the standard of the teams we lost against was pretty good.

Also, the teams we've started have usually featured very few starters (obvious exception). How many of those who started or came on later will start games for us in the PL? 3/4, 5 at the most? In comparison, Man Utd have played and beaten LA Galaxy (nowhere near CL quality!) with around 6-8 first team starters in their initial line-up. I'm waiting for the likes of Lallana, Studge, Sterling and Markovic to start playing together . . . so, hopefully, next match!

Agree with most of DF's assessment, except on Skrtel, who, for me, just showed how is easily our best defender. He did some great challenges, good interceptions, passed well, and (if he'd shouted Agger, or Agger had listened, if he did shout) he would have had a goal, too.

I think we will see BR put out a much stronger team for the next few games as he will want to judge the best line up he has at present against the teams in the International Champions Cup (or World Series Soccer as the Yanks no doubt call it), who are as below. Although this is billed as a pre season friendly competition I suspect Utd will go all out as LVG will want to show a quick improvement, the other teams will also want to prove how good their new line ups are.

I predict a final of Real Madrid v Man City, with RM whupping them.

    International Champions Cup

    Group A

    Manchester United
    Real Madrid
    Inter
    AS Roma

    Group B

    Liverpool FC
    Manchester City
    Olympiacos
    AC Milan

Sweetly struck, GK could perhaps have done better though.

    Sunday 27 July 2014 23:00 Soldier Field

This is our first game in the Guinness International Champions Cup. We just played Roma who are also in that competition but that didn't count.

The game will be on LFCTV GO and Sky Sports 1

Think BR will play a team similar to what we will start the season with. Although this is a "friendly" competition all teams involved will want to do well in it.

I think it will be mixed. The world cup players will still be building fitness.

It's on Sky if you have it, if you have subscription to the Liverpool website then it should be on LFCTV Go, if not then try Wiziwig <ok>
