I don't want him to be able to blame his failure on injury. I hope he just finds himself dropping down the pecking order very quickly!
Perhaps one nice change from last year's pre-season tour might be set set Lovren on fire and the rest of the squad walk across him, got to be more enjoyable than hot coals? Bastard
Well, he will be rich whatever happens. Unless he becomes addicted to cocaine, hookers and gambling. Can that be arranged?
Anyone think that it looks less professional compared to the last few years? Mopo used to be so organised and whenever there were training videos everything looked right and in place but my perception is that this trip looks rather just chucked together and the drills etc doesn't look that convincing. I know its early days but what sort of manager we think Koeman is; Tactician/Coach or just Motivator? Do you think we will see them same levels of organisation this season?
This trip is chucked together, it was only sorted out about a week ago and Reed and Koeman have pulled some favours in the process. As Koeman said, the important part was to take everyone away from the current environment and get a chance to bond etc. I think Koeman is a tactician/coach but is less hands on than Pochettino, but then Pochettino was extremely hands-on. Koeman seems a bit more like Adkins in his approach. Gets involved and does the coaching, but prepared to watch on too.
I'd say it would look less professional if the players were photographed smoking & drinking heavily in a swimming pool. But then, they are not current England internationals, future of the England football team & Arsenal "legends".
If anything the NC/MoPo looked a bit too clinical and walking on hot coals was the stupidest thing ever. Much more Saints-like to improvise and muck in as a family, might not get us Champions League but might result in a happier bunch of players.
I don't think we had an unhappy bunch of players last season? Anything but (until the various departures started playing out). The walking on coals thing was fine too.
You think that was an unhappy team (prior to January)? Odd you think that, as I can assure you they were an awful lot more unhappy playing for the man in your avatar/signature......
Oh I understand that. I'm just talking about the whispers that were coming out of the camp about our Captain and a few others.
Yes, but that was after Nicola went and it was clear that Pochettino was leaving. They were not unhappy at all playing for him, quite the opposite (perhaps barring Jack Cork).
