Utterly useless operators who couldnt negotiate their fare home with a mini cab driver. Here’s an idea, fire whoever is screwing these deals up and hire whoever does Brightons recruiting. They buy top players for peanuts and sell them a year later to mugs like us for 100 million. Absolute no brainer.

Looks like Caicedo might still join after all, with us paying more than the 100 we could’ve got him for a few weeks ago, bizarre. Cancelled Tyler Adams, still want Lavia and it all leads to us being underprepared again at the start of a season.

Need a kepeer now too which is late notice but I’m stunned we’ve managed to get rid of Kepa, even on loan.

Indeed, I will be over the moon if we get Caicedo, but this should have been resolved 3 weeks ago when terms were agreed.
Brighton had made it clear that they were not going to accept any less than £100m, but we kept going back with lowball offers and stalling.
And what has it gained us? Theres now a chance he doesnt sign at all, and if he does, it will cost us an extra £15m than it would have done if we had just bid their valuation from the start.
I dont know much about Tyler Adams, but I have a friend who is a Leeds fan who said unequivocally, that Adams is not at the required level to play for Chelsea, so not too concerned about that one.

Very inept work by us during this negotiation. Brighton were smarter, tougher and far too clever for our dopes, who cost themselves an extra 15 Mill and further trashed whatever reputation we might have had.
Still say our 1st job must be to get in the Brighton scouts, who leave ours for dead and MAKE millions for their Club. Ours LOSE millions.
Time to concentrate on getting the Team on the pitch, and performing.
Expect Liverpool to be fired up this afternoon, so even tougher opener than we neened.
