Day Five: Final session at Loughborough University https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/day-five-final-session-at-loughborough-university/
Dan Bentley doesn't start again but he is on the bench today. Vyner with a chance to impress at right-back today and is this a hint that George Nurse has over-taken Cam Pring in the pecking order at left-back?
Goal: 0-1 - Pompey take the lead Brown crosses - he has so much time - and the trialist (Gassan Ahadme) heads in at the back post. Too much room between Baker and Atkinson there.
HT: 0-2 - City behind at the break The Robins playing some good stuff going forward at times but Portsmouth have been clinical when presented with chances.
Goal: 1-2 - Weimann nets First City goal at the HPC as James' cross is deflected and Dasilva heads back for Weimann to sweep in on his left foot.
Goal: 2-2 - Palmer equalises Martin plays a great through ball to capitalise on the space behind the Pompey defence. Palmer converts.
Goal: 3-2 - City take the lead Martin nets a penalty after the City no.9 is brought down in the area himself, following a one-two with Weimann. Robins finally in front.
Off we go again City's team now (4-2-3-1 again): Bentley; Simpson, Moore, Atkinson, Pring; King, Nagy; Pearson, Benarous, Janneh; Conway.
Goal: 3-3 (Francois) And the Bristol City winger nets against his own side, as he fires low under Bentley to equalise. Would you believe it?
FT: 3-3 - A good workout for the Robins and plenty of goals City come back from two down to draw 3-3, with one of their own scoring the equaliser. So 4-2 then?!
I was unable to watch another match due to Robins TV not activating for me and I have received most of the comments from other disgruntled subscribers in my inbox due to a computer malfunction apparently caused by me replying to the e-mail trying to explain the problem. In those subscriber comments I received in error there were some that are getting refunds already, so does that mean that Robins TV is defunct or did those people ask for a refund on the grounds that they were not willing to listen to excuses anymore? What an absolute load of worthless hype about watching every available game on Robins TV because it's rather like trying to cash in your return ticket on the Titanic.
FT: 3-1 - Robins take it today and are very impressive Job done and another good workout complete. So many positives there.
Watched the game IMHO Vyner was poor, Nagy and Williams aren't up to speed and Janneh sorry the commentator was bigging him up, not for me incredibly wasteful. However I was impressed with Nurse, Pring, Conway and Pearson they really look like they have bulked up and all look strong. Later on Moore played well at the back and Scott, Bell and Benarous looked lively and we looked very dangerous going forward. I like Kalas and he played well but he is so quiet, Bentley made a mistake late on but dealt with everything else really well and Wells needs more game time but anticipated and took his goal really well. I wouldn't be too unhappy to see one or two of the 'assets, move on as long as we bring in another striker to mix things up.
Up next Still, City remain unbeaten in pre-season and go again on Tuesday, where the players will be put to the test with matches against Exeter City (1pm KO) and Plymouth Argyle (6pm KO).
