Positives from this game : 1. Vorm is up for it. 2. The usual <standard> sloppy play gets highlighted so emphatically by the quality of the opposition.
It's funny watching Dembele ghost past Real Madrid players and then doing **** all with the ball. Shame he can't improve that aspect of his game. Kane offside. Has he done anything else? Anonymous today. No service.
1-0 HT. Ramos being a little bitch at the end, as usual. Twat. We looked totally outclassed in the middle and they had most of the possession. They didn't threaten very often despite that, though. The odd flash and not that much pressure. We offered very little up front, relying mostly on the odd break. Dier's well out of his depth and Alli's very inexperienced, though he didn't do badly.
New season but some things don't change: Rose is still a 2nd rate defender!! Totally responsible for their goal. Vorm deserves better in front of him considering some of the saves he has made. Ali looks to have promise but Eriksen has been invisible. Turned the commentary off at half time as the guys a complete twat!
So according to Beckenbauer Tottenham are light years ahead of everybody else with our training methods.
We look totally underprepared for the season at the moment, in my opinion. Various players are well short on match-fitness and our squad's pretty incomplete. I'm happy with our defensive recruitment, I think, as it's something that we needed to do. Kaboul and Chiriches replaced and Trippier brought in the push Walker. Fine. Shifting Paulinho, Stambouli, Capoue and others from the midfield is also understandable. Not replacing them and failing to bring in any strikers with days to go to the start is pathetic, though.
"So according to Beckenbauer Tottenham are light years ahead of everybody else with our training methods." And light years behind with our defending methods.
Not sure what you mean by them not being replaced there are young players coming in perhaps. Striker situation is odd I agree but then it always is at Spurs, or maybe we have something lined up.
Who are the youngsters pushing for a starting place in the deeper midfield roles? Dier, who's a defender or Alli, who looks like an attacking midfielder, to me. The Soldado and Adebayor situations might well be holding up our attempts to sign strikers. I understand that. Not having anyone at all as back-up to Kane in the week leading up to the opener is just not good enough, in my opinion.
