I hope we keep Yedlin as a RW option rather than loaning him out as well. Using him on the right and/or Rose on the left would stretch parked buses thin. They would also be useful (if we ever sit back) again to counterattack quickly.

It appears that a Spurs XI beat Brentford behind closed doors in a training friendly.
Coulthirst and Alli scored from the spot in a 2-1 win. No idea who else played, but I think it's the youngsters.

I've seen a picture on twitter of Chadli on the ball with Davies in the background, so it would appear that at least 2 first team regulars got game time. Probably the players who only more recently came back to training didn't take part.

I want to know when Yedlin will come and train with us again. The US national team seems to play an awful lot of games spread out over the year.

More than twenty players used, according to Brentford's match report: http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/news/article/tottenham-hotspur-brentford-premier-league-2564491.aspx?
Eriksen, Bentaleb, Trippier, Alderweireld, Coulthirst, Oduwa, Onomah and Rose in the first half.
Alli, Walker, Dembele, Vertonghen, Dier, Chadli and Davies in the second.
    Fitness exercise.

Edit: Spurs report adds some detail: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/brentford-friendly-report-220715/?
Wimmer, McGee, Fazio and Carroll all took part, too.
No sign of any of our main strikers. Interesting.

My guess is they want to extend Kane’s time off as much as possible, while Soldado and Ade are being treated like Ming vases.

The match report was interesting. Apparently, a midfield of Bentaleb, Alli, Oduwa, Onamah and Eriksen, with Trippier and Rose at FBs, created a lot of chances. Young or not, it sounds like a team that would create a lot of chances. Oduwa may have played on the left. It seems all the first half new arrivals helped their causes.

In the second half Dembele may have been central, and Carroll and Chadli played. Strangely, Vertonghen only played in the second half, and Alderweireld in the first.

Somebody's worked out our formations for Brentford looked like this
First half: McGee; Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose; Winks, Bentaleb; Onomah, Eriksen, Oduwa; Coulthirst
Second half: McGee; Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies; Dier, Alli; Carroll, Dembele, Chadli; Coulthirst

The theory is that Winks and Dier were our DMs, meaning that Dier is being tried in yet another spot. I’ve thought Dier is a natural DM for some time. He works hard, likes to tackle and is good enough on the ball to get forward. It does support the conclusion that the reason we didn’t shield the back four last season was that there was nobody who was actually playing a DM role.

    http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/france-test-for-u21s-230715/

We're sending the U21s off to France to play in a tournament.

Voss (GK), Whiteman (GK), Amos, Azzaoui, Ball, Carter-Vickers, Goddard, Hall, Harrison, Maghoma, McEvoy, Oduwa, Ogilvie, Sonupe, Sterling, Veljkovic, Walker-Peters, Walkes.

There's some quality in there at this level. Carter-Vickers and Veljkovic were both very impressive at the U20 World Cup this summer by all accounts, and the likes of Amos, Hall, Azzaoui, Maghoma, McEvoy, Oduwa and Walker-Peters seem to be highly thought of too.

Good luck to the lads <ok>

Looks more like an U19s team, to me, bar one or two. Hope they do well, though.

I was just thinking, I believe all the players are accounted for now (as in they're back training or we know why they're not) except Lamela - I can't recall seeing one picture of him training or a mention of him being elsewhere. He's not playing in international games like Yedlin is he? Or if he is the club haven't been talking about it that I've seen. Anyone know where he is and why?

So he's still with his family in Argentina then? Maybe he'll be meeting up with us when we fly to the States in that case.

Two games played today, we drew them both and then lost both of them on penalties. How Spursy.

Someone on the Spurs Community chat site is claiming Danny Rose has lost his passport and so missed the flight to America this morning.

So that's a dozen rumours of him joining one of the moneyed Premier League clubs this summer we can look forward to, then...

And from the same site, there is reports of a Spurs fan asking the club to get rid of Tom Carroll and Harry Winks because they are "nerds" for playing Scrabble on the plane.

I'd sooner have a team of Scrabble players than a Call of Duty fanboy as our marquee signing.
