I can only see Cork and Rodriguez being used regularly next season, hence why I said the rest need to prove themselves.
I agree to an extent, but I think Puncheon will be used quite a lot from the bench at least, because we have a lack of players who can play on the right (I'm not including De Ridder). And you could say that that every player has something to prove, because Pochettino won't pick big names, like Morgan, Rickie or Wanyama if they don't play well.
Southampton Football Club on Twitter: "We're expecting a completely different XI for the second half here. We'll confirm that at half time. #preseasonuncovered #saintsfc"
I'll guess it will be Boruc, Clyne, Hooiveld, Lovren, Shaw, Morgan, Wanyama, Mayuka, Ramirez, Lallana, Lambert. If so, I expect a minimum of 10 goals in the 2nd half!
Forgot about the injuries, Ramirez occured to me just after I posted that. Some young players may well be given a chance then.
Saints subs/ 2nd half XI: Gazzaniga, Clyne, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Shaw, Stephens, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren, Isgrove. Actually there's only 10 subs so it won't be a completely different 2nd half line up.
Lallana's on the bench so I guess he's fit. Can you ask them about the pineapple references in their anthem?
The first eleven soften them up and if they survive we send on the big guns. Ought to be like shooting fish in a barrel....ought to be, but never know with friendlies.
Gazza; Clyne, Lovren, Stephens, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Wanyama; Isgrove, Lallana, Punch/Rodriguez; Lambert?
