After a full morning practice, a new line-up with no Pukki or Stiepermann, a new midfield pairing of Leitner and McLean and a new defence with Klose playing his first game of the pre-season beside Godfrey (have they ever played together before?) and Heise and Byram as FBs. It isn't going to be like that against Liverpool.

If, as is likely, Klose and Godfrey are the CBs at Anfield (unless we go with a 3-4-3 and Hanley joins them), they will need more playing time together and with Lewis and Aarons as well. Pukki will be up front and probably Leitner and Trybull in midfield in a line-up of players who are fully fit, raring to go and know each others play instinctively. We'll be ready!

I think that is a very balanced article from one of the better blogs around. He asks the question about have we spent enough and then answers it in the positive. We currently have a 26 man senior squad, not including Husband or Marshall. We have at least two players at every position and quality in depth. As he says, to buy our present team would cost a fortune. If we were to buy another player, who would we sell? Last season we lost to Charlton then won the Championship. This season we lost to Brentford. So what?

Interesting line-ups. Apparently Buendia picked up a minor knock in training yesterday, but Roberts and Cantwell need game time. Like to see Drmic get a goal to help him settle in. Surprised to see Max an Jamal playing as I thought they'd be playing the final two games, but perhaps Byram and Heise will play the second half.

The XI for Orient is full of new signings, so hope they get off to a good start at Orient.
