well the first part of your second paragraph is plain nonsense and you know it but certainly the bit in bold is true. the problem (and the reason category one is so vital now) is that you simply cannot attract the best young players to your club and if you do get a good one, they can be taken for next to nothing. in all honesty its a terrible system designed to suit the biggest clubs in the country and nobody else. to miss out as you did would suggest your club never really had its heart set on gaining the top facilities. the mark (75%) is set for a reason and to only aim for the bare minimum sets you up for a fall. you will have known as a club that you were tight for a while - the auditors kept my club informed as to where they stood so yours will have been no different. you've tried to do it on the cheap.
you are probably right in a lot of it supers tbf, but its all conjecture on whether we had our heart in it or not and if we do it on the cheap, not being funny its widely known we aren't flushed with cash at the moment so we probably were prudent, rather than on the cheap.
AAaargh! the 'P' word is taboo and never, ever allowed to be used in connection with our (Cat 1 status ) football club. Almost as bad as the 'R' word
not sure it was ever a good idea for you guys to go for it if it was always likely to be so tight. seems like you've spent all that money (much of it fans money!) upgrading the facilities for little benefit in terms of access to top young players, top opponents etc, whatsoever. that's not very prudent... its a cock up whichever way you look at it.
but you'll find you could have upgraded those facilities for a fraction of the price you've spent! that's not very prudent.
You and Guru going at it as usual Take a day off! It's Friday afternoon, the Sun is shining and some of us are about to depart for annual holidays! Why not be nice and share the love!
I seriously read that as though you were off on your anal holidays! I then had this horrible vision of you and treacs going at it!
I just thank god wolfie wasn't playing....................... that would have made for a narrow 1-0 win.
So SC Bastia have at least shown up, starting XI is: Rudd Whittaker, Bennett, turner, garrido Howson, Johnson Bennett, Wes, Redmond Hoops Subs: Matthews (GK), Pilkington, Loza, Josh Murphy, Jacob Murphy, Surman, Gafaiti. So no Ruddy, Lafferty, Russ, grabban, tettey, Olsson. However only Lafferty and Grabban are injured and neither badly.
Before anyone asks, Paddy Davit has confirmed is definitely is SC Bastia. Shouldn't have to say that.
