I will try to keep this as upto date as possible, and will include any development squad games that may surface. July 7th Welling July 14th Eastbourne Borough July 18th Dulwich Hamlet July 21st Crawley The Welling and Crawley games are 1st team run outs. Eastbourne Borough has been advertised as a development squad game, I imagine the same will apply with Dulwich Hamlet. Dulwich Hamlet will be played at Tooting and Mitcham whilst Dulwich are exiled from their home ground, and the Crawley game is being played at East Grinstead, a strange venue but from a personal level it adds to my list of grounds with the best team in the world.
Elfs, your first post here looks like your own work but I hope you won't mind me asking if you have copied it from somewhere else? The reason I ask is that this has appeared on ITTV as well in the last few minutes, posted by Reams. It is exactly the same, but he has not credited anybody. I don't know whether Reams has copied this message from here, or you might both have copied it independently from somewhere else.
You should sue Ivor for copyright @baraettmattesvensson @lardiman I think you know full well that not only is Elfs a genuine Charlton fan with a genuine interest in paying to watch Charlton, he also has an excellent knowledge of away grounds. Unlike Ivor May
Elf's first post does look like an original one, I was not trying to suggest that he has pinched it from somewhere else. However I'm always cautious of supposing something these days if there are other possible explanations, so I was just asking the question. If Elf's post is his own work and Reams has copied / pasted it on ITTV then in my view it would have been a courtesy for Reams to ask Elf if his post could be used on another forum, and a further courtesy to credit Elf on the copied post. I would not presume to tell Reams or anybody else what to do, but had I wished to copy Elf's post I would have asked first, and I would have credited him.
I am not sure how Elf did it but there is obviously something underhand going on here... I will consult with @DonCorleone as to who deserves a lemon We must come down hard on things like this!
@baraettmattesvensson As Ivor May is now cutting and pasting your threads word for word over on ITTV, why don’t you start the following - 1. Judas Murray is a wan ka. 2. Scousers are horrible people 3. I drink too much strong lager
For anybody not knowing how to get to East Grinstead, here goes. East Grinstead TownGAC Stadium at East Court, Holtye Road, East Grinstead, Sussex RH19 3XB Station: East Grinstead 1m. Out of station and up to roundabout, and straight over into Railway Approach. Then right into London Road, left into King Street, right into Christopher Road which becomes De La Warr Road, left into College Lane and over bridge, then right into Estcots Drive and soon left into a track which runs through a park, then after passing police station on left and just before emerging onto main road, take track to the right to ground.
Eastbourne Borough as well. Eastbourne Borough Langney Sports Ground, Priory Lane, Eastbourne, Sussex BN23 7QH Station: Pevensey and Westham 1m. Left out of station into Eastbourne Road and out of town, becomes Hide Hollow, then left at roundabout into Priory Road, left into Priory Lane and ground is immediately on right.
I don't see the point really. I mentioned this initially as a courtesy to Elfs, but I was not sure if I had misunderstood the events (which was why I asked whether the thread-starting post was original work or copied from somewhere else). It is not unusual for online material to be independently and coincidentally copied and posted on different forums by different people. Since all the posts on this forum and ITTV can be read by any member or guest, the copying of any material from here to that forum (or vice versa) will be there for everybody to see. Had I not mentioned it in this case, somebody else would have noticed soon enough.
The dates have been announced by the club over the past ten days, BUT my thread was all my own work. I am not sure whether the official site has a page with the fixtures. The longer we go without a take over and manager, and CEO, and FO, it will be interesting to see how the pre-season fixtures develop. You would like to think that the games would become more testing nearer to the start of the season. From past experience the weekend of the Eastbourne Borough game will probably see Charlton on a tour somewhere.
I am glad that I have helped my friends on ITTApologist with the dates for the friendlies. We are all Charlton fans after all.
Or you could just jump in the car, type in the Ground's post code and the jobs a good in ..... much easier!
