But they were French, their level of ****ery is such that sucks thread did the trick. For the rest of the season we need a whole new level and @Zanjinho is our man.
They are both glorified friendlies and the WCC is a pain in the arse in the middle of the season. BUT The media always saying Utd are most trophied club in England. Only counting the "glorified friendlies" so winning a few would help close that gap Major Trophies Liverpool Domestic: 18 L, 7 FA, 8 LC = 33 Liverpool European: 6 CL, 3 UC/EL = 9 TOTAL = 42 Utd Domestic: 20 L, 12 FA, 5 LC = 37 Utd European: 3 CL, 1 UC/EL, 1 CWC = 5 TOTAL = 42 Tin Pot Trophies Liverpool 15CS, 1SC* 3ESC, = 19 *( super cup for teams banned from European comps, scrapped after a year) Utd: 21CS, 1ESC, 1IC, 1CWC = 24 So 3 free hits in the CS, ESC and CWC this season, a PL title and bugger all for Utd would do nicely.
You're right, but I don't really care about what the media say in this respect. For me, there are only the five obvious competitions that should count towards a genuine trophy haul - PL, CL, EL, FA and LC. All the rest are show-piece games and I don't really care about them apart from the basic entertainment value. The CWC or whatever it's called is, as you say, a pain in the arse in December - and I wish we weren't going. I hope we send a scratch team, because I'd be well pissed off if tiredness or injury resulting from it affected us in the serious stuff.
I'd like us to win the WCC purely so we can be labelled world champions. Don't care about the other two
