If Saints keep hitting wood, we'll have to stream the games via a porn site! Soares, going forward looks like he will eclipse Clyne, but still to be really tested as a defender. Thought his passing was a cut above Clyne's, and he finds people in the box with crosses. Not sure how much of a test, Groenigen are, but they still got behind us a little too easily, at times. Need to get the balance right, which we will, hopefully.
Fonte on today's win. Like his response to the mantra...it's not about winning in preseason. He replied that winning is always important. Also mentions how they are working more on set pieces as they feel we didn't score enough last season from corners etc.
So if Ramirez and Gallagher haven't traveled, has Gardos traveled? Was expecting him to get game time, but was very surprised not to see him on the bench.
Don't we have a game against weaker opponents before we play Feyernoord? I expect the non-first choicers to get game time then.
Both knees operated on, Koeman said he'd be out 5-6 weeks. May not see him until the end of August as he won't have had a Pre Season.
Next up is KVV Quick who play in the 4th Tier of the Dutch league KO is Tuesday at 6pm You'd imagine this will be mainly youngsters as we will be playing Feyenoord on Thursday.
Looked really good. Hassled and harried everything coming through the middle, intercepted a few passes and moved forward well. Some nice long balls to wide players too. Looks really promising.
I see that Jose has stepped up his attitude. There is a school of thought that winning at certain times isn't as important. Well that's not true. Every game is important, even if it is just a rehearsal. It means that the same fiercely competitive attitude is framed as much in the first game of the season as it is in the last. Good stuff Jose.
