It's not managers who are putting the progress of the club at risk. It is the limbo between being owned by someone who no longer wants to invest and being owned by people who, hopefully, do. A limbo, might I add, that looks like being extended indefinitely. We have a decent core side, but survival over the next two or three years will depend on elements far from the control of any manager.
While I agree the limbo is an issue there's no guarantee that new owners will be great for us. Yes, if she wants to sell then it's for the best that it's done. But it's I definitely a case of be careful what you wish for. I personally wouldn't (in an ideal world) swap our owners for any in the country.
Depends on what kind of sales team fats. If you manage the ones that call everyone chasing PPI claims or the car crashes we all seem to have multiple times a month then you should sack them all!! Otherwise I get your point and agree
Leicester will have a good season this year again in my opinion. Well run (and ambitious) club, will finish in the top half, and above saints.
I did add the parenthetical "hopefully". However, our current owner is no way the best one in the country. She is owner by default, not choice. She has done a good job, to date, but now she clearly wants out.
I will go into the new season as I do every year with optimistic hope, it seems ridiculous to me to write ourselves off before a ball is even kicked!. I won't be at SMS booing if we fail to win against Swansea because I'm fully aware that a new manager has to be given time to mould his own style of play with the personnel he has at his disposal. I hope to christ that he is given time to build, because we can't go through upheaval every season, eventually it's going to fail.
There's a lot to be said for continuity and consistency. My biggest gripe with the club has been the constant turnover of players, Add managers and owners to the mix and constant turnover becomes constant chaos. New owners does not equal buckets of money and 200m worth of players in the off-season. It might but its not a given.
They might. We are well run and have finished above them in all but one of the last 6 seasons. The year we didn't, they didn't show too much ambition in the transfer market
"Optimistic hope" is a great expression, thanks. That's exactly what I wanted to say and how I feel. Not expectant.
This is going to be our line up for the season IMO. Wednesday was for the reserves and players just back from holidays. Today will show us how we will play for the season.
