we have some tall lads up for corners, yet Davis still can not get it past the first man, some things stay the same
I didn't watch but this Tella fella seems quite a nice option as one of our 3 AMs this season, hope he gets some games.
Mauricio said the pitch was too dry for passing....he's going to love St Marys. We can play water polo at half time.
Much as I've never been a fan of the Boeing 737 I have to admit that they have been successful because they are relatively good at everything. Even flying, and that's not always a given.
Our goalkeepers were kept busier than I would like...though good for them to get practice. Not surprising I suppose with a make shift defence with Bertrand (a muscle tweak apparently) and Stephens both missing. Neither Saints team (in the two halves) bear any resemblance to our real team, so this was just a run out with a chance for Mauricio to give them a once over and to try a few things. Love the kit.
Though you might be interested in this post from The Echo from a Swiss fan who was at the match. UrSaint 15th July 10:35 PM Further to my previous post ( in the feature on VVD): Gate 3200, aprox. a dozen traveling fans or ex-pats in CH and some 30! Swiss Saints. One lad has started a Swiss Saints Facebook Thing. Wrote to Ralph about it and was received by him at St. Marys. Ms Liebherr very casual among the normal fans in this countryside Sunday league like "stadium" and easy to talk to. Wanted to know all about my being a Swiss national and Saints fan since 71. Read what I wrote before. Good to see VVD sitting on the bench and Kelvin Davis standing at the railings like any ordinary visitor. Bertie was there with VVD. Our "stars" did not shine with the exception of DT. By the way, his cousin played for St Gallen. They will start their season next weekend and were of course readier than Saints. Finally, the beer and the local sausage from the grill were the Highlights besides SHARING MOMENTS WITH OUR GREAT SAINTS OVER HERE.
The same fan mentioned meeting KL and her daughter....a daughter, who knew? Boy, does this woman know how to keep secrets She apparently thinks we will have a good season with our excellent new manager and good team. So Katharina's a happy clapper.
Hope she's teaching her how to run a football club. At the rate this takeover is going her daughter will inherit the club before the Chinese do.
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-07-17/video-southampton-goalkeepers-austria-feature Watson talking about training with the goalkeepers in Austria...interesting that he says Stuarts influence is phenomenal. Lesson to us all that hard to judge from the outside....he has an influence on the squad of keepers despite not playing. Also says it is very important that Harry gets first team football now, though it will be hard in a different environment away from his friends.
