He has been asked, saw on the FB page 'We have passed a message onto Luke, awaiting reply' or something along those lines, I'd hope he'd accept it as I couldn't make it last night and I'm sure plenty of others couldn't either.

I really hope that's not true. I'd lose all respect for him if he's going around doing the isn't Hull great thing, but actually he's one of these that's only from Hull when it's rugby.

Really, really hope that's a joke or something.

    Really? What does it matter?

He can still be proud of his city without supporting it's football club, in case you hadn't noticed there's a lot more to Hull than one second tier football team.

True, though the East Yorkshire Whites are lower than snakes belly.

Really?? So we should all have been supporting the Irish kid against him??

He's born and bred in Hull, he should offer his support to City, if he wants to play the PR game and earn some money he'll learn that pretty quickly.

True. There are two under achieving, second- rate rugby league clubs as well.

Given he's going to appear at rovers and he's a massive FC fan I'd say he's not bothered about petty sporting rivalries when it comes to making these appearances, so if he doesn't come to a city game it's hardly going to be down to the fact he's (allegedly) a Leeds fan.

Oh he's part Irish himself anyway, some of his family still live there.

Wouldn't matter if he did, he could still be proud of being from Hull, something some people don't seem to be able to accept.

If he supports Leeds United having being born in Hull he can keep away from Hull City's games and yes I would have wanted the Irish boxer to win..

    grrr I hope it's not true !!!

So its alright to support The White ****e if you're from Hull if you win a Gold Medal and are briefly in the sporting celebrity spotlight? I have respect for him as a sportsman to have achieved what he did, as I have for the rest of Team GB, but seriously, if he's a TWS fan....christ I can't even believe I have to spell that out.

    No, just no.

I would however like confirmation hes a white ****e fan before I start despising him along with all the other ****ing idiots who do this.

It's alright to be from Hull and support the Leeds period. It won't make you popular on here and you'll lose respect in football circles, but it's a choice, for the record I don't like those people any more than you do.

My point was that his sporting allegiances have nothing to do with his success and doesn't stop him being proud of being from Hull.

True, it could be a moot point as apart from one post on here there's nothing to suggest he is a Leeds fan.

Sums you people up, he's probably the greatest sporting figure to come from Hull and people are going to dislike him because he doesn't support the same football team as you.
