What a fabulous finish to the match!

We were awful in the first half, flat and nervous, and lucky to get to half time just one down. Much better in the second half and Tommy Leigh take a bow - in the right place at the right time with two great finishes.

That’s a massive win in the context of the battle to avoid the drop. UTG!
 
A great 2nd half performance, and generally the officials kept good control of the match apart from penalising Connolly our ex CB who used his hands and arms to stop Quigley at every opportunity

Rovers kick off to get the game underway

2nd minute a cross falls to Barkuizen after Young was unable to claim the cross but Rovers clear their lines

6th minute Cavegn holds the ball well before finding De Havilland but his ball to Senior on the right is to heavy

9th minute a Mola ball to Sparkes is to heavy and goes out for a goal kick

11th minute a Balmer long throw is cleared to Kilgour which Stanway clears for a corner, Sparkes corner is cleared before the ball finds Kilgour whose header is saved by Stanway Balmers long throws are causing problems for Barrow tonight

16th minute Will Murray saying Rovers are settling into some good possession but need a goal

18th minute another long throw is tenatively cleared before Stanway claims the ball

19th minute a Sparkes cross is headed into the side netting by Leigh before the flag goes up for offside

25thminute Sparkes fouled on the left wing chance for a good cross into the box

27th minute Smallwood delivers Stanway punches Sparkes crosses Leigh scores Barrow 0 - 1 Rovers

30th minute Rovers have a corner

31st minute Sparkes corner is cleared at the front post back to him and his effort is pushed away by Stanway, Sparkes then appeals for a penalty which the ref ignores

33rd minute De Havilland wins the ball and finds Quigley whose shot is well blocked

if the scores stay as they are Rovers and Cheltenham will have the same points and GD

38th minute a Sparkes free kick is played short which is then played back to him and his shot is pushes away by Stanway to De Havilland andhis shot is deflected out for a corner which is cleared, but the game is now stopped because of an injury to a Barrow defender

Barrow then make a substitution with Shipley replacing Anderson who was the injured player

293 gas heads have made the journey to Barrow tonight

47th minute Sparkes wins a free kick which is cleared before Smallwood's lofted delivery goes over the bar

49th minute Quigley holds up the ball for Leigh who drills a low pass for Cavegn who is unable to divert it goal wards De Havilland and Senior can't find the target after the shot was blocked

53rd minute a left wing cross is cleared to Gordon who shoots straight at Young I think that is their first effort on target in the game

56th minute Leigh wins the ball and plays it to senior who slides the ball across for Cavegn to net Barrow 0 - 2 Rovers

61st minute a cross from the right finds Rose who heads wide

65th minute a Sparkes free kick finds Cavegn whose half volley it turned behind for a corner which I am guessing came to nothing

70th minute Will Murray saying he thinks this is the best performance under Evans

71st minute a Leigh finds Quigley but he cant get the ball from under his feet and is quickly surrounded and the ball is cleared

73rd minute an exchange of passes finds Smallwood on the wing who is fouled

75th minute Shipley whips a cross in for Barrow but no player was there to get on the end of it

76th minute a cross from the right is diverted goal wards by Rose and is tipped over by Young

78th minute a Sparkes corner by Stanway after he fails to punch clear and misses everyone and goes out for a goal kick

83rd minute Leigh releases Senior who takes it past a few defenders then Leigh picks the ball up and his floated cross just misses Quigley

88th minute Cavegn back defending puts a cross out for a corner which is leared but another cross comes in and finds Walker whose shot is easily saved by Young

90th minute a cross from the right finds Shipley who strikes wide from point blank range

Rovers now in 19th place ahead of Tranmere and with the same GD as Cheltenham who drew tonight 9 points clear of the relegation zone

5minute a Shrews clearance finds Morgan clear on the right wing and his shot goes past the far post

10 minute Mola nicks the ball in midfield and finds Cavegn but the Shrewsbury defence recover and stop the attack before he can get a shot away

12th minute Cavegn down injured after getting caught by a late tackle
