That’s more like it! Terrific second half display and the Forde / Cavegn combination ran the Shrews ragged. I thought Senior and Kilgour had good games - we looked fairly solid at the back and dangerous attacking from wide positions.

But the plaudits have to go to Cavegn - by far the best player on the pitch. Great little striker who never stops running and is a constant threat. Fantastic hatrick and a brilliant acquisition.

I posted on twitter after Forde got sent off couple of games ago that he can't be trusted to contribute to help keep us up as he's had 3 red cards since he joined us. That aged well didn't it. He had a good game vs Shrewsbury.

But there are only 1 or 2 players can hold their head up so far this season and its Cavegn. Works his socks off for the shirt.

5th minute Young claims the ball and with a long kick which finds Cavegn whose effort is saved

6th minute Nmai finds space on the left but fires a left foot shot over

7th minute Cavegn down with an injury but is now back on his feet and able to continue

8th minute Graydon goes through the middle of the defence and calmly slots past Young Salford 1 = 0 Rovers

9th minute Forde shoots over

10 minute Harbottle does well to head clear Grants cross all Salford now

Rovers now hitting long balls to Cavegn who is struggling to hold up

18th minute Thomas and Cavegn combine well and find Hutchinson who is offside

20th minute Salford appeal for a penalty against Sparkes but it was waved away

22nd minute Young makes a big save to deny Graydon

24th minute a De Havilland cross headed out for a corner which again misses everybody and goes out for a GK

27th minute a Sparkes cross easily claimed by Young

29th minute Garbutt yellow carded for a challenge on Cavegn

30th minute Forde fires just wide

34th minute Thompson-Sommers wins a throw in deep into the Salford half, the ball is cleared to De Havilland whose volleygoes out for a corner which again clear everybody and goes out for a GK

36th minute a Hutchinson shot goes straight to Young

38th minute Salford imitate Rovers and their corner goes straight out for a GK

40th minute a Balmer chip just misses Cavegn and is picked by Young

42nd minute a long throw by Balmer is cleared to sparkeswhose through ball goes out for a GK

43rd minute Mnoga yellow carded for a challenge on Kilgour, Rovers players not happy with one

45th mnute Udoh hits a shot into the side netting

second half begins 3 changes Senior, Lockyer and Harrison on Kilgour and Thomas off

47th minute Lockyer heads behind for a corner from which Balmer clears for a second corner which Young punches clear, now playing a 5-2-1-2 formation with Forde playing behind Cavegn and Harrison

52nd minute Forde down on the left wing, Will Murray saying hope it is just a knock, play has resumed and Rovers comfortably deal with a Salford corner

Todays attendance is 3034 with 805 being Gas Heads

56th minute Salford deal with a couple of Rovers crosses and win a throw

Harrogate now 2 - 0 down and Newport winning 1 - 0 now 2-0

Harrison causing problems for Salford but couldn't connect with Balmers Cross

60th inute De Havilland shot is blocked before Sparkes cross cleared for a corner

62nd minute Nmai is fouled by Harrison as he was trying to break away

If the Newport and Harrogate scores stay the same Crawley will drop into the bottom2 unless the get a winner then we will be in the bottom 2

74th minute Akhamrich beats the defender on the right before a lofted ball by Lockyer is cleared for a throw from Balmer which finds Harrison whose goes straight to the GK

77th minute a De Havilland free kick is headed on by Harrison and is scrambled clear by Salford

78th minute Conteh on Thompson-Sommers on, that's Rovers last change

80th minute Harrison intercepts a Cooper flick for a corner from which Graydon heads over the bar from close range

85th minute a Garbutt free kick hits the side netting

By 10pm on Tuesday we will have 1 foot in the National league and as Steve Evans says he will not manage in the National the search for a new manager can begin

I know we lost but what I read on the commentary Young sounded a lot better than Southwood, we need a big strong Striker and quickly Beating Newport now is a necessity

Rovers defending in numbers manage get Cavegn free but his shot is saved by Mackillivray

14th minute a Young free kick is headed on toward Cavegn but is put out for a corner which is cleared but a header sends it back towards the goal before Harrison is penalise for a high foot

23rd minute Cavegn wins a throw in on the left wing Balmer launches it goal wards and Moore has two efforts blocked

24th minute Forde wins the ball on the left wing before finding Harrison in space who then drags his shot wide

26th mite Balmer down injured and the Rovers bench appealing for something with Paterson being yellow carded

28th minute Harbottle yellow carded for a foul on Collins who looked to be running in on goal

29th minute Offord hits the bar after the free kick is flicked his way

31st minute a Forde flick finds Cavegn but he was denied at the near post
