The protest, if it goes ahead won't stop anyone getting into the ground. Whether it goes ahead or not depends purely on how many fans turn up to take part.
This has really made my blood boil. As far as I know there are no plans to disrupt the match, only the 2% and the B&W poster displays, which will not affect support for the team. This is not the club I've supported for 40 years any more. Underhand is the right word, like bringing Jacko and Steve Avory along to the fans meeting. Trying to tell us that "all the managerial changes have been good", or "our scouts really know what they're doing", or "only 2% of fans are unhappy", or how about "Luzon is the next Sir Alex" etc etc.
It's ridiculous. She is an admin to a Charlton fan page of over 6,000 members, and generally quite popular (people love a bit of inside knowledge on whether JJ prefers Branstons or Heinz bake beans), so it makes sense for Chris to turn to her. It's depressing that how many people believe the tripe that is written. A protest will affect Januarys budget? ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH
Some more quotes: Sue Parkes: I most certainly am not Dean. I am just a loyal supporter who understands and appreciates a lot better than many the truth in what is happening. Sue Parkes as I have said many have their own agenda, definitely not an ill advised comment. When RD bought the club it was his first venture into English football and many mistakes were made, It is all a learning curve. Some aren't prepared to allow time for that. We can see the wood for the trees. Only time will tell. I'm pissed off at how many will swallow this crap. It shows why us ''2%'' need to continue the fight.
I really really dislike a large majority of out fanbase, or is it the sensible ones don't post on the Internet.
I'm trying to figure out who can see the wood for the trees and who can't. "We can see the wood for the trees" is worthy of our CEO herself.
I never really get that whole "I know inside knowledge," blah blah blah bollocks. It's like when this Trust person came on and listed his whole family history going back to 1903 supporting Charlton, himself doing it for 34 years, I think to myself, "And that proves what? You think your opinion is more valid than anyone else?" What's making me mad is: 1. Protest on Sheffield Wednesday game was very peaceful, albeit some blue language after being antagonised 2. At not one single point did anyone try and disrupt the match 3. At not one single point has anyone gone, "I'M JUMPING ON THE PITCH" In fact the last time anyone got on the pitch at The Valley was a Tuesday night match, who everyone labelled as "The Charlton Streaker!" Just because they're doing it at Blackpool don't mean that's going to happen here. On a side note: I don't hate them, I just feel better when they're not around.
Mrs Parkes sounds a complete duckwit! I am not sure what qualifications Mrs Parkes may have in Economics (I hope more than her husband!) but if a Company puts up its prices to penalise its customers then those customers stop buying the Company's products. I already predict a fall of 25% in season ticket sales .... but say a 10% increase in prices to fund any fines would increase this 25% fall to between 30% & 40%
Trust me, AH, it got a lot worse. Seeing her try to argue the 3,000 season ticket holders who aren't attending (something raised by the club itself), as merely us not knowing the ''facts why people didn't attend - they might have been on holiday'' was a personal highlight. She then decided to bring up the amount of boardrooms she had been in. I left her to it at that point. It was then going to be a case of ''my dads bigger than your dad''. Utter joke and out of her depth.
It's because pricks never shut up and are always the loudest. The majority are not happy with the way the club is being run, there are just not that many that will actively do something about it.
Blackpool actually stopped a game last year and they didn't even get points taken off them this year! If Duchatacunt can afford to waste around £3mil on loan trio Tucadean, Polish Pete and "peanuts" Watt then he sure as **** can afford to pay a fine.
Have to say the "protest" today was predictably, toe curlingly embarrassing. Met ....no...drowned out....by loud Ipswich chants of "your support is ****ing ****" Hard to disagree with them. Depressing.
Don't remember you coming up with or planning a viable option for a protest. How about you stop mocking the effort that other fans are putting in and actually provided a meaningful contribution?
Let's get one thing straight from the outset, Mr WUM. I won't be responding to any more of your posts sunshine Your posting style (sic) seems vaguely familiar
Folkestone mate. The problem was that we'd just won two on the bounce. I don't claim any insider knowledge, or to know how many the 'silent majority' are, but it was a fairly clear probability that the anger was going to die down, and a protest outside the west would have been feeble. We now find ourselves back where we were before the Wednesday match. Worse, Watt has been moved on, and our captain courageous is injured. I hope KM hears what was being said on SKY about us (one standout about Lookman was ' if Charlton are relying on an 18 year old to dig themselves out, they are in big trouble'. No chance on there for KM to cloud the facts, just general derision for our back four, Makienok and the general set up. Nearly everyone on here has maintained the two wins were a blip, and that's how it's come out. Time to protest again.
Outside the stadium prematch absolute nothing a few people standing around thought the 2% percent was decent bearing in mind not many people were in attendance thought a lot more people joined in than expected more like 70% . Once Ipswich scored their third had a lot of angry people around me and decent chants your gonna lie in a minute pick of the bunch . Then apathy set in so after full time nothing happened was hoping for a post match demo with venom but alas not the case .
It's easy to protest when your owner is actively a prick and you plummet down the divisions. Duchatelet just drains the spirit slowly and slightly lower midtable declines are less interesting for those that want to protest.
