Thanks for the honesty glove pup.
I agree it must be difficult knowing when to start something since the run out is probably in the hands of the ref.
May I suggest that you start the run up with "This is the Valley/ Oh Verona", then have the two bits of music which you can fade down into Red Red Robin. Leaburns Legs and I appear to agree on the Skids and the Clash but we are only two. Of the two the Skids is probably easier to fade and segue into Billy Cotton although nothing can be easy.

Mate it's very hard and the hardest thing is to please all, some complain we play the same stuff and others want the old music. I'm trying to mix it up as much as possible and personally I love into the valley.

Yes you are right, it's all down to the ref. We play into the Valley which has O'verona over it and we try to time it as best we can, if we play it too early it won't have the effect we are after. Sometimes things are held up with players wearing jewellery etc. We are just as gutted as we are fans also, hopefully get it right on Tuesday.

I also took alot of music suggestions from fans and got some really good ones, but for some reason the player we use would not play them so need to sort that out! It's hard work you know :p

We appreciate that Glovepup, and you posting about it here, keep up the good work. At the end of the day your not going to please everyone but I love the relevance of Into the Valley and London Calling and the drama of Oh Verona but maybe I'm getting old!

I love all that myself mate, it's just good to mix it up a bit and try to appeal to many. Don't know if you noticed what was played after Red Red Robin, it was requested by Sir Chris Powell himself!

I thought yesterday's music selection was one of the best we've had in recent times and a list of track names /artists would also be great to try and relive that great result over again ;)

Glove pup - I can understand how hard it is having done similar myself in years gone by, you can never please all of the people all of the time and to some extent you shouldn't try.

However, there is some argument for having a consistent run up to kick off in that both the players and the supporters will know how long they've got before zero hour. Therefore a consistent theme which builds to kick off will be heard in both the bars and the home dressing room to get them ready to perform. If it starts say 12 minutes before 3.00 it signals to the people in the bar to order the last pint or drink up and tells the players that they have got 10 minutes to get shot of jewelry etc. you are more likely to get people in their seat for kick off that way, get the atmosphere in the North upper cooking and allow the prawn sandwiches to be digested in hospitality.

Just a thought but it might be simple mass psychology
